How's camp changed throughout the years? The people, the place, the whole thing?
I've been going to NBTSC for two years. This year will be my third. The first year, '98 I was at camp was the first year Taber and Radical Honesty camp to camp. I think that was a good change, since Radical Honesty has completely changed my life, definitely for the better.
Camp seems not to have any actual 'camping' anymore either. I miss that. There's something about spending nights in a tent with people that just doesn't happen in a cabin.
Camp seems to have more rules too. Or more specific rules anyway. I think it's really sad that things have happened so these need to be spelled out.
Last year second session was very relaxed. It wasn't workshop focused at all. There were a lot of workshops, but a lot of people didn't do workshops, and there was tons of time for just lying out in the sun. Or rain, as the case may be. :) That's one thing I just love about camp. There's lots of space for doing really fun stuff... and then there's lots of space for just being. I love it.
I think the community-ness of camp hasn't changed though. I know there are some people who just didn't feel accepted and that camp just wasn't a perfect place for them, I think NBTSC isn't for everyone the same way homeschooling isn't for everyone. But overall, the increadible community feeling at camp is the same. We're all so Rad!!! :)
