Alternative Transportation Geeking

My idea has been, to get out of haveing your life revolve around a car, sence cars to me, don't make a whole lot of sence, for one person, look at the size, they are freeking huge! for the past 5 years at least, I have become interested in difernt ways, of geting from one place to another, everything, from walking, rideing a bike, improveing, and expanding public transit to more areas, and geting more people to use it, to re-inventing what we use to get from one place to another, like, how to make a better vehicle for going distances. Maybe a car that gets better gas mileage, and is safer, smaller, ones that last longer, are easyer to repair, use a more renewable power source, or use less of the non-renewabl ones, such as gas, it just seems that there has to be a way for people to get from one place to another, then useing a vehicle that weighs 2 tons, and gets 10MPG, and has a life span of 6.5 years... I also want to work on more of my ideas for things such as... Bikes that go faster, are more comfertable, easyer to use, less matinace, simpler, more complecated, more fun, more practicale. Motorcycles that are more airodinamic, less likely to slide around on slippery roads, or tip over, warmer/drier, in wet/cold weather. Foot powered scooters (kick scooters), or SkateBoards that work better for distance, and speed, lighter weight, larger wheels, easyer to use, so they could replace bicycles/cars/walking and fold up, or something, to be taken in side, or stored, while at work, or even used where ever you are going. RollerBlades, or some other kind of wearable "vehicle" that work on less then perfect sufices, and maybe even off-road. those are some of my vauge goals, and things that I am working on, if there is anyone else that has done anything to do with transportation, I would love to hear about it, and I encourage anyone to ask quiestions of me, even if they might seem simple, or dumb.

Well, I'm not sure what Ryland had in mind here, but I'm going to post about my favorite form of transportation - rollerblading/rollerskating. Only not right now because I'm supposed to be writing a paper that is due in an hour. Nick H
