- Anna was my advisor at 2nd session this year (2001) and she was awesome. The sheer electricity of her writing makes you spark. And her cello will talk to you. Apart from her amazing spoken words and notes, she was an awesome advisor and cracked me up a lot. I felt like she was really there for me and that on the last day (11th Sept) it meant a lot for me to have her there. Her hair makes the cutest little ringlets after she's put it up in twin buns. She's beautiful.

- Anna was my advisor for first session last year, and i just loved her. When she shared some poetry at the talent show i wanted to stand up and scream because it was just how i felt.... You are beautiful and real... -Dawn
When Anna read her poem (you know the one...) in the talent show I was like "she's my new hero" I admire her greatly and I love to listen to her cello. And I love the african song she taught us. you know the zamanamana one.

Anna is... I can't put words to it, though I'm sure she'd be able to. Her writing ability is truly spectacular, and every time I hear one of her poems, I'm left speechless. Like Jessica said, her prescence is very comforting, and she herself is undescribably gorgeous. Camp really wouldn't be the same without her.
Anna is amazing. Her poetry is inspiring, beautiful. Her presence was comforting. I'm glad I got to talk to her at camp, more than just "small talk." I wish I'd spent more time talking to her now. I really look up to her. -jessica c.
When I "came through many fights but lost at love", ("The lions looked up in suprise, but they backed right off when the saw the madness in his eyes"), Anna was there to help me "Get back truckin' on", which truly reservs her a spot "In the attics of my life", Oh, and she is one of only a few people who might actually understand this post [1] --- Neal M. (May the music never stop)
an amazing presence on and off the stage. Listening to her spoken word piece at the talent show was an honor, I could really learn a lot from her. Her cello playing after the Power Shuffle was truly calming and beautiful, she is so talented. She walks with dignity, truth, and power. I look forward to seeing her again and getting to know her. - Kim W.
indescribable. i broke down sobbing every time she read. she taught me a great deal about strength and true beauty and confidance. i worship that woman. ~carsie
...an absolutely fantastic poet! When she comes out with her book of poetry I am buying a copy! She taught a great writing and performance poetry workshop. It is because of her that I wrote and performed my first ever piece of performance poetry at the talent show. Thank you Anna! -marina
Agreed! I really wish I had gone to her workshop. I was thinking about her and her poetry the other day and got out my directory, to see if she had a webpage or someplace where I could read her poetry, but much to my disappointment, she didn't. She is an amazing cello player, too! I wish I'd gotten to talk to her more, because she is just really cool. I hope she's at camp next year! - Emma
anna tries to own herself and steer her own life, even when it's scary as shit. plus she was one of the best parts of camp for me. (jessica)
- postscript: i haven't been in contact with anna since camp, and yet i find myself really missing her lately. i feel like she'd know where i was at right now., like we could have some amazing discussions. (wb)
Her poems are incredibly compelling, and she's awesome on the cello. - Naela

Anna is one of only a handfull (less than half a dozen) camp people who I know entirly through connections totally unrelated to camp. She was an instrumental force in getting me to read the TLH, which as a life long unschooler, I'd never felt a need to read. When I met her I felt that she was a particularly supportive presence at an event which was very stressfull for me.- Lorin
anna was my advisor last year at session two, but only was she my advisor, she was much more then that, she was someone to look up to, she was someone that I wanted to be. she writes the most amazing stuff and that helped me become a better writer. I didn't even write last year, but sense then I've found out that I do love it and I think anna had a hell of a lot to do with that. I can't even say how much she helped me changed while I was in her groop. (for the good) I want to thank her for that. anna you had such a impacked on me, I wanted to go out and do the things that I never did cuz this time I wasn't afraid this time around...... not only is she a beautiful writer, but she's also has to be the most beautiful person at camp, I mean that as far as looks go and I mean that as far as personalty goes and I pretty much mean that in every way..... anna I don't know if you remmber me not wanting to read anything in your groop last year, that's pretty much cuz I couldn't last year, I just really didn't know how to spell. I got home and learned cuz the impacked you had on me..... you'll never know what you've done for me and I'll always be forever greatful, always..... I love you so so so much and I thank you for EVERYTHING.

Anna, you were my advisor 2001 session 1. I think you are the most awesome cool interesting caring gorgeous woman I know! I admire you so much in how you seem so comfortable in who you are. And I love the discussions our advisy group had, you made sure no one felt like anything they said was less important than what someone else said.
I hope I get to see you again someday.
love you always,
Robin
Anna, you were my advisor at second session 2001 as you may remember. I think you are one of the most amazing people I've ever met. You were such a fun and wonderful advisor, and your writing workshop was powerful. What struck me most, though, was when I visited your house... I am so used to wonderful, powerful, brilliant people being impossible to get to, being closed. But you are so generious with yourself, so open. Thank you. (and I apologize for what, in retrospect, was probably an abuse of everyones hospitality) .Will
