| Bitch About Your Gender |
you first...
ok. gender. Im not going to bitch about MY gender....Im going to bitch about gender in general. gender.....is a bitch. it totally defines you....everything that you are from the moment you are born....make that the moment your parents find out whatgender you are in your mommys belly, you are defined by it. the colors you wear as a child, the toys that you get at your birthdays....etc...etc...etc. I think its bullshit. I think that gender....causes people to....try to be something they arnt...or try to hard to be something they are. if we could just accept that we are all people and not...MEN or WOMEN.....then....I dont know....I think it would be better. like, why should people have to fight all their life to be a "manly man," when they happen to be really very efeminate? I think that the experiance I had a couple of weeks ago kind of brought it all home. one of my friends (who is transgendered) was honoring some of the people he really admired in his life...and he honored these two old women....both of them over 75, and they were partners. they had been together for almost FIFTY YEARS. about 30 years into the marrage the "husband" decided he was really a women undernieth his body, and became trans. now this was 20 years ago, and lesbians were not widly accepted, but the "wife" loved her "husband/wife" that they stayed together and now are 75 year old lesbains....they were totally great to meet and it was wonderful to see that people can go beyond the lines of gender and still love each other and still be able to live in this society...and also to be able to help other 'newly-trans' people....I think that, when I am old....I want to be like that, able to be a role model....ok. that kinda got off subject, but basicly I think that there is to much defining by gender. GENDERFUCK! ~Malia
I don't mind gender itself, but I do mind the stereotypes. I fucking hate it that so many women play into the "victim" role... it's depressing at the least, manipulative and hateful at the worst. So maybe a man victimized a woman in some way, but it's the woman who chooses to stay in that role.
