I'll probably spend the rest of my life trying to figure out what you think about things, what you feel, and how you always manage to say exactly the right things at the right times. To me you're constantly a role model (your relationship, your humor, your intelligence, the way you are with kids), a partner in evil things (is that popcorn really inappropriate enough?), and the ideal torture victim. I'm busy trying to figure out what you can do to prove your masculinity, in addition to giving yourself a toothpaste moustache. You and I have the world's greatest taste in girls. Oh, and Charlie... i remember the first time i REALLY heard Charlies name. i was in the car and Shippy told me that she fell in love with this guy named Charlie. i didn't know what to think. then i met him and wow what a guy!! i thought "woh my sister has good tasts in guys!!" he really growen on me and hes more than my sisters b/f hes like a brother to me. he chalengs my weardness!! i love the book charlie :) thankyou:) love Heather

kind, articulate, mature, superintelligent, funny, and geeky. He is one of the first campers I met in Eugene (at the hostel) and has been really nice to me ever since. I was on my first solo, cross country, on my own journey and was a bit overwhelemed by the whole travel experience and meeting new people. He announced he was going for a walk and asked me if I wanted to come so I did. We walked around for about an hour talking about all sorts of stuff, like his interest in typography and classical music, where he lived, where I lived, weather, my hobbies, etc. It was cool and all the stars were out (I didn't even know there were that many) and he really helped me mellow out. He actually knew what I was talking about when I called him Oberon at camp (he was wearing that cool looking black coat and leaves in his hair.) Plus, he's real good at not spontaniously combusting and eats ice cream with chopsticks. - KimW.

Go Kim! he is king of his own world... charlie is funny, geeky, very handsome, sweet, and a great artist with words. i know there's much much more to say, but i don't know what. i'm very glad i got to hang out with him and shippy. oh yes! him and shippy! what a couple! charlie, you are just very very awesome. seriously. -marina

Charlie is hilarious. At camp, I don't think I heard him talk in his regular voice for more than a minute, because whenever he saw me, he started doing this ridiculous french accent. He's a geek in the best way possible, he gives really good hugs, and he's just.... he's Charlie. And therefore, he's cool.

Just in advence for the record, if Charlie ever has kids I'm am insanely jealuse of them. Watching him with little ones inspires me so much, makes me glad that there are male parental units out there who function (it's a good reminder to have), and comforts me no end. I have a feeling that I'm gonna be saying "I wish I knew Charlie better" for the rest of his life. He's always suprising me, always delighting me with his attitudes and ideas.

I didn't get to talk to him much, but he is very cool. He patiently sets up his laptop so bored campers can watch The Matrix, and he tapes talent shows, which I am really looking forward to listening to. :) - Emma

Charlie is profound enough to not care what anyone posts here and just human enough to check and see what everyone writes anyway. He is the single most thoughtful person I have ever met, whose mind works in an unexplainable and amazing way. He is more good then he thinks he is and meaner then we will ever know. He is very comfortable with silence.I will always remember walking with him along the coast of Waldron island just before camp 2000 under a full moon on a hot summers night. He is that person in the moon light. He is very good at chopping wood and loosing at Pounce. His sense of humore is faultless. He is very compassionate. He can stay up later then I can ever hope to. Charlie is someone you can have a meaningful conversation with even when you're brain is mush and doesn't squeeze into conventional words and sentances. Like my brain right now.
