Deep is something that isn't shallow. Big Bird, for example, is shallow, because he doesn't really think thoughts that go beyond the length of his beak. But Ernie, on the other hand, is deep because he understands the deeper values of being happy and therefore he doesn't question life as much. Also, water becomes deep at about two meters.
