Hair Dye

Okay, after nearly going blind from all the wild colors at camp this summer, I've been horribly afflicted with the urge to dye my own hair. So! What color is the question... I can't do any light colors because I am unwilling to bleach my hair as of right now. So I can go for any really dark colors. After 6 months working someplace where I'm not allowed to dye it at all, I'm wanting to dye it very badly. And so now everyone, I expect you all to give me your two cents (or 3) on what color is me! I've dyed my hair before but it's always been purple...So everybody? Whatcha think!? ~Jasmine

I recommend a tasteful forest green, a bright orange streak, or... TYE DYE!! Or you can do what I've been thinking of doing -- when the black fades out of my hair, that is -- and get a whole bunch of colors and make a rainbow out of your hair. Put it in a bunch of little braids so the colors won't get mixed up, and you'll be all set. Of course, this will work much better on your long, straight hair than it will on my frizzy mess.... so go for it! :) ~Eire

dude. i'm having the same predicament. it's been orange for a while, and soon i'll go back to Electric (orange: orange). but what about pink? too drastic? risky? eek!

Mmmm for a while i was thinking about doing eireann's idea for my hair in rainbows because i was going to be rainbow brite for halloween. but that didnt happen, and my hair magically turned blue while in austin and it hasnt changed since then, except for becoming more green (grumble!)... i'm thinking about pink when it fades out. mm. pink. maybe i'll go lavender first though. :) xo ~jennyrose

midnight blue was my favorite. it was this rilly rilly pretty peacock blue, and everybody (even my mother) loved it. It makes your hair look rully gorgeous. If you dye it over dark hair it will probably be pretty subtle, but when your hair is in the light it will backlight it. A tip: don't use Manic Panic. It's Evil...washes out faster than watercolor. I'm not sure what you *should* use, but I hear there are brands which are much better (tho more expensive.) ~Rosie

I have blonde hair that has to be permed three times for the perm to take, and have been thinking about doing different colored strands or tie dye: purple, very purple, dark purple, maybe purple red, purple blue, blue, very blue, dark blue (you get the idea). What can I use that wouldn't damage my hair and also disappear fairly easily? I would like it to last over a week, but under a month. What about kool-aid? --Carrie

I just dyed m'hair black and it looks SupaFly. Bet y'all were here ta see it. -Matt H.

last week, I grabed my jar of Blue dye, and a tooth brush, and made my gootie blue... I must say it was fun, but I had to clean it really well fist, becuase of all the oil that can be on your face, soap, then viniger seemed to work, next time I might try a little bleach, to kill it more then viniger dose, so the dye will soak in more. --Ryland
