Hi! My name is emily, I went to camp in '97, and I've never posted on this before so I hope I'm doing it right. I'm from NY but I'm coming to Northern CA on January 13^th. I'm looking for people to stay with, as well as a place to live for a few months. If anyone knows of anyone who knows of anyone who has a room to rent to an unschooler, I'd love to hear about it. I'd like to be in the Bay Area and near public transportation. I'm spending the first week or so with Rosie (yea!), who suggested I post up here. Woo Hoo! Chiyah! Duuude! *Jumps about and smiles from ear to ear* ; )Okay, now that I got that over with, here's the scenario:

I, Kimberly West, have in my possession a 30 day North American rail pass that lets me go just aboot anywhere in these United States and Canada. I have decided to do the "West Coast Tour" and travel to a few other places as well. So far, I plan to visit Santa Barbara (for Marina's party of course), and then up to Berkeley, CA; Klamath, Eugene, and Corvallis, OR; Seattle, Port Townsend, and wherever the hell Charlie lives, WA; Victoria and Vancouver, BC; and Edmonton, AL. I'm really looking forward to seeing these awesome places and the even more awesome folk who live there. I'd also like to stop somewhere after Edmonton before I come back to Miami, most likely somewhere in Indiana or Ohio.

In case you're wondering how (or why)I plan to do all this is a month, the answer is, I don't. You see no matter what (unless Noam was wrong and I do need a passport to get to Canada) [2] I will be going to atleast some of these places (albeit at break-neck speed), but I would greatly prefer to make this a two month trip. However, I can only do that if I don't have to pay for a bunch of hostel stays, meaning that I'm asking, nay, begging, any of y'all in or around the preceding cities, states, and what not to allow me to crash at your homes. Pretty please. I'll buy ya stuff. : ). Anywayz...proposed dates of travel are between Jan 1 and March 2. If you're willing to put up with me for 2-7 days then e-mail me at NynaEve96 at aol.com. I want to go to austin and stay with summie some time after new years. (also: if there is going to be a big new years party-ish shindig happenin somewhere on this coast, tell me. i got no place else to go!!!) so... some time in early january, i will be traveling (possibly by amtrak... even after summer and rhymi's horror story), from virginia to texas... I'm hoping really hard that someone is having a Halloween party that I am invited too. I REALLY want to go somewhere for Halloween, dress up, the whole nine yards. So first I have to find somebody I know who's having one and then I have to convince my parents to let me go. -emily o.

I'm going to be in Berkeley, CA from Oct 9 to 15... or maybe 13, plans change rapidly around here.... I would love to get together with some campers who live in that area!

I also really want to travel anywhere and everywhere... but I'm working on that. Two major issues: mother and money. [1] argh. :)

I want to go to Texas in January when it's cold with tons of snow on the ground here in WI! So if you live in the Austin area please tell me if you'll be available for me to visit, and ANYONE who could come from anywhere else in the country (or whatever country for that matter) to visit while I'm there would be greatly appreciated!!! Actually, I'd love to make plans for a full scale get-together... tell me what you think/if you'd come, if I could stay at your house if you live in Austin, etc. I love you people!!!! Becky

I would loooove to come visit everyone! Especially if you can give good back rubs or dance, like real dance, waltz and stuff, or sing opera, or live near new york city or oregon. But what I'd really like is to visit someone with horses. Right now I'm taking riding lessons, which are good, but it would be sooooo cool to be able to just keep riding and riding, not just for an hour at a time, in a teeny little arena. -kimberly
