Makeup Or M A D Eup

Ok so heres the deal. I'm not into wearing makeup every day or spending hundreds of dollars in it. However. There are times when I feel it would be fun to wear it but i don't know how!! So what I'm asking for is---

  • Someone who does know to come visit me and show me. (WINK)
  • Some ideas of things that work for you.
  • Or some books of web pages that explain things and have pictures.

    • i'm so glad you posted this ruth. i couldn't agree more...i remember when i was in a play a year ago and we were putting on makeup...and i was like "you mean eyeliner goes there?! hehe. -franny
      • I know! I did a play this summer to and I was like i've never even done NORMAL makeup much less stage make up! Ack!

http://www.za-ny.com/makeup/index.html Pictures and step-by-step instructions. WARNING! Very....not cool. But, if you want to learn how to put on makeup, there ya have it.

haha! at second session i was doing rachel's make-up on a picnic table (she always makes me do her make-up), then i did serena's (she does, too), then emily g.s. and michelle and spike and before long i had this line of people waiting to take turns for make-ups. because of that i've decided to do a make-up workshop this year. i really like make-up, but only eye make-up. pleasant colours and textures that have different effects. face-painting, it's fun. i'm getting off topic.

urbandecay.com is nice. that's the only brand i use, because i am snob. it's pretty glam, but has a good natural side. they have some how-to's and to-do's.

so come to my workshop, ruthy. -naomi

  • oh, and a good general tip is blending. use a dark eyeshadow with a thin-tip brush for liner, then blend into it with a lighter eyeshadow, extending near to the brow. and if the liner isn't defined enough for you, just use eyeliner along the eyelash-line. or mascara. yeah. -naomi

 * Well I couldn't pass this page up since I am a little *coughs* make-up
obsessed. Its not that I feel I have to hide behind make-up, but, I just
feel really nice when I have some on. I see it as an art form, and it just
takes as much practice as any other medium. I have spent MUCH time doing
make-up! I have copios books and an entire dresser drawer full of the stuff.
(yes it is possible to have 10 colors or green eyeshadow!) So...if anyone
has ANY questions regarding brands, skincare, technique, period/stage
make-up..etc...just drop me a line. As for websites...i really LOVE:

www.Sephora.com - its got soo many brands and you can also check the store locator to see if there is one near you. they usually have tips on their site.. also I like Gloss.com and www.Makeupcosmetics.com. I get a 30% discount at the m.A.c. store, so i have lotsa their stuff too...soo um yeah i would be happy ta bring my books to camp for ya Na if you want... its just so fun ..and um yeah fun...I mean it all washes off so u can;t mess up!!!

  • gets off of table she was standing on*

ok ill be quiet now.. ...the everly shadowed Abbi...... IceAbbi
