| Poem For Kat E |
The night is whispering
oddly, vexed and crying,
broken to pieces,
child like,
cherished in temples
only in your eyes.
What is life without love,
but oh,
what is love without pain?
The sublte catch, gets you every time:
silky, voracious, ephemeral, contagious.
And what remedy is there for pain
except more love?
The life cycle that breeds tears
as it breeds daisies,
births blood as it births laughter.
All you can do sometimes
is to see the signs along the road,
glowing with surpressed love
for you in their glinting yellow sides,
catch a pair of familiar eyes
in every passed streetlight,
and know that you are not alone.
You are never alone.
