Rosies Family

My family is good fun. They are all very loving and supportive and generous. My mother reads aloud to us when we have any time to sit down. My father tells stories. Y'all know ElizaBeth, my only sib. Yesterday when I came home from work crying my eyes out she paced around the bathroom threatening imminent death & maiming to the causes of my grief. She is fierce, protective, (sometimes too much) funny, and with 15 years worth of in-jokes built up between us, it's pretty fun. I think I have the most honest relationship with her, out of anybody I know. One thing I've especially noticed & appreciated in my parents recently is how welcoming they are of my friends, and genuinely excited to meet one more hyper unschooler crashing on their couch for the night. They hosted the whole bike trip for a week in August last year, and were full of sweet comments and compliments about my friends after they all left. We've had quite a tally of unschoolers here. ;) A lot of my friends really like my mother, because she's such a maternal person...especially my 18-or-so female friends who are just starting off on long trips of their own & love having a mom-away-from-mom.
