Ruths Traveling Truck

Heya. Ok heres whats goin' on.

I'm going to take my truck. Put a REALLY cool homebuilt camper [1] with all kinds of fun little toys in/on it on top of the truck and then drive to 1st session camp. From there I will probably just hang out in the area for a couple of days and then go to 2nd session camp. And then. I (and 1 or 2 other people as well i hope) will embark on a cross country drive taking up as much time as we like and going where ever we want untill as long as we arrive in time for 3rd session camp on the east coast. This trip could well include a stop by my house in colorado or it may not.

So heres the details.

I'd like to leave here. (meaning Ridgway, Colorado) About 4-5 days before camp #1. I'd like to have 1 person to go with me.

We would then drive to camp. Seince it is a kinda long drive I would REALLY like to have that person be able to legally drive (this is a stick shift [4]) with a drivers licence and who is willing to drive. If not it will just take us a bit longer to get there but no worrys.

We'd get to camp #1 do that then hang out in the Eugene/Portland/Corvallis/Somewhere else close/Maybe the beach untill camp #2. After camp #2....

Heres the fun part. And the part where i REALLY need someone to go with me. Well maybe not NEED but it would be a hell of a lot more fun a a bit cheaper.

Now we go where ever we want. Visit people, go to camper partys, Maybe stop by my house, Maybe not, And wander our way across to the east coast in time for camp #3. After camp #3 we then wander back (maybe in a straiter line)to my house. And then I go back to work.

So I would like 1 person to ride with me from here to west coast camp to east coast camp and back home. It would be nice if you can drive but you don't HAVE to be able to. It also dosn't have to be the same person the whole way. We can split it up or not depending on who wants to go. You also don't have to be going to any of the sessions of camp but you will be responsible for yourself while I am at camp and I will probably (but not nessicerily) give priority to people who ARE going to camp. You would have to pay for your own food and an equal portion of the gas.

so If you are intrested put your name here: Or e-mail me at Ruth at NBTSC.Org

[1] oh yes and if anyone want to visit me and help me BUILD this thing that would be fun to. And if anyone knows where to get (or happens to have laying around) any SMALL appliences like a tiny fridge, oven, stove or heater that runs on propane I need those to. --Ruth

  • Propane camping stoves are pretty easy to find... --Marina
  • Are you looking for a stove that is like a multiple burner unit, or a simple camping stove? Coleman stoves (in my opinion) are better, and I am fairly certain White Gas is cheaper than propane. My family has several coleman stoves, a single-burner one that is incredibly compact, but also collapses and I think we have a two-burner one, the ones that look like a green briefcase.. -mike
    • Well I don't really like colmen stoves that well. We have a couple of the green suitcase style ones and I don't get along with then very well. I'd rather have a regular gas burner. Like one you would find on a full size stove. Hmm. thats not a bad Idea. I could tear apart and old full size gas stove. Well any way. And If i can get two burners that would be really nice but if I have to one would be fine.

[2] Mike Mike Mike!! me me me me!! I am already registered for 1st and 2nd session, and this gives me a reason to go to 3rd! I can't (legally) drive yet, but I talk. Oh yes, I talk!

[3] ME, me! Oh, pick me! I'm not sure what I'll be doing around then, and I won't be going to camp, but I'm game if nobody else is. I also drive.

[4] but I'm willing to teach people who have a drivers licence but only know how to drive an automatic how to drive a standard truck. As it will mostly be highway driving it's pretty easy.
