Smith Family

I thought I'd write a bit about Dawn and Shippy's family... I've know them all my life. I used to go down to the farm to play, and although I haven't had enough chances to visit them in the city, I really like being there.

Heather is like the younger sister I never had... except I'm not around her enough to really get the annoying younger sister side that her older sisters assume me she has. I did get to teach her piano though, for a while. She's very caring (always willing to give hugs when she notices people need them). And she's friendly and cheerful.

Sheila is wonderful, very generous in her time, and very caring. I have really enjoyed the times I have gotten to ride in a car with just her, talking with her. She has always made me feel very welcome at her home.

I want to say stuff about Dawn and Shippy's family!!!

Wow, like, when I visited them in April they made me feel sooooooo welcome. I haven't felt that included and welcomed by "strangers" for a long time. Sheila is sooo mothering too, I guess that's where Shippy got her mothering complex! They included me in their activities, but gave me space when I needed it. They made me eat! *grin* Their house was so comfortable and had really good energy, and there was always something going on. I felt like I was wrapped in a blanket of love and understanding. Thinking about it hurts sometimes because that feeling is so rare.

Oooh, and Heather is beautiful.... sooooo caring; she gave me hugs all the time, for any reason (or no reason!) She wears awesome clothing, and she has a kind of charming, childlike loveliness about her. I can't wait until everyone meets her at camp -- I think she'll be loved by everyone there! You just can't help but love her.

And Dawn and Shippy.... well... I never shut up about them!
