| So Do Thoughts |
"Spelling counts. It makes you look smart (I am so smart, s-m-r-t... I mean s-m-a-r-t), or at least it makes you look like you tried. I always get mildly annoyed when people use "(sp?)". Shows laziness, or more, they just don't care to put effort into communicating with me. C'mon! There's a dictionary at your fingertips, just spell this: http://www.dictionary.com."
First let me oppoligize for my negitivity, I've been applying to colleges recently, and I'm sick to death of fucking Academic Suppirioritiy Complexes from people who don't seem to value writing unless it fits the ridged and totally insane rules of grammar and spelling of the English grammer.
2nd, just too get this off my chest, I have no idea who wrote "Spelling counts" it could have been my girlfriend for all I know, but I doubt it. Who ever it was, Fuck You, you arrogant elletist S.O.B. How dare you tell me I'm an dumb-looking, effortless, lazy, careless, stupid snot. My choice to put my time and effort into things I've found more intrinsically meaningfull than proper Englist spelling is my own, and it was and still is a deffinite Choice. Yes that's right, I misspell things because I don't give a fuck, 48% of the time, and because I mean to 48% of the time. about 4% of the time I care and wish to have correct spelling, most of that time I hit the spelling checker, but there isn't one here, so instead I write (sp?) If I know how to spell a word correctly and I want to spell it correctly (rather than a more inventive spelling that shows better how it's to be spoken,) I will spell it that way.
Okay, if the thought is lessened by correct spelling (Yes, Mr. Z, yours usually are.) then misspell. If not, . I guess I like people to take talking with me seriously, at least. I like good spelling. I like good grammar. I like creative use of both better than the 'good' kind any day.
We are using a langauge that I beleive to be the WORST langauge on the planet... Alot of the words aren't spelled phoneticly, and "proper" grammer rarely ever makes any sence. I would rather not support the English langauge... So I just won't care about my spelling and grammer.
And what I really think is stupid, is that English is becoming the universal langauge. People all over the world speak it, and about 90+% of the internet in written in english.
Arg... I think that humans need to adopt a GOOD universal langauge... And all start using the metric system... Sure the first few generations would suffer from it... But after that, it would be smooth sailing for mankind.... hmmmm maybe....
I think that I've rambled on too long... I guess my point is that spelling isn't that big a deal... and sometimes I can't read a word thats been spelled correctly... But if its spelled the way that someone thinks it should be spelled, then I can read it.

- Agreed. Nomination for a new universal language: Spanish! Spanish rules. (¡Español es mejor!)
