| Storrys About Charlie |
Charlie and I love to make fun of male stereotypes. I remember one very late night when I was staying on Waldron, we were talking with Dawn and Shippy about the stupid random stuff guys do to show they're not gay. I happened to have my toothpaste in my hand, so I said, "Charlie, if you're not gay, you need to prove it by giving yourself a toothpaste moustache." And he took the tube out of my hand and smeared toothpaste all over his upper lip! huge laugh I never expected him to really do it. Mitchell
I remember Charlie being sooo patient and persistent setting up The Matrix for all of us second session campers who didn't go to the beach and were just sitting around being unhelpful. :) Mwah! - Emma
I remeber seeing Charlie not spontaniously combust. That was impressive. I've tried to learn how to do that, and I just can't do it like Charlie... -marina
Okay, I've got another "Let's make fun of masculinity" story. Charlie and I were standing outside the bathrooms in front of Dogwood. Robyn and Tessa and probably Dawn and possibly Shippy were in there. Us guys were just standing out there. So we started to check in with each other, and almost immediately we saw the girls peeking around through the doorway at us. I heard Tessa say, "Shhh! Male bonding!" So we started talking in these low, slow voices about manly things. "How 'bout that local sports team?" "They suck!" "Mmm... How 'bout that other local sports team?" "They're doin' all right I guess.. So, how's that weight-lifting?" And other things to that effect. Reanna walked by and gave us a look that seemed to say "I don't know what the hell you guys are doing, but it's pretty damn funny." Then Charlie pointed out to me that there were some chicks watching us, and we should try to impress them. So we went and picked up a big rock together, and brought it over to the girls. They were not apparently impressed. More followed, but this story is definitely long enough now.
I remember sitting out on the deck-thingy off of the lodge, and Charlie and Bella were there at the end of a table. Bella was trying to write love letters to people, but couldn't do it very well, so she kept asking Charlie to write them for her, and it was very cute. He also always did this weird little French-accent thing every time I talked to him at camp, and it made me laugh. *grins*
Becky and I were walking past Dogwood on the ocean field trip day second session '01, and Charlie was sitting on the picnic table scribbling madly and stopping every few seconds to giggle to himself. Naturally, Becky and I were intrigued... Turns out he was writing deep poetry. We got him to read his current masterpiece to us. It was about hands. I think. Maybe it was about blood. Or both. Charlie is funny.
