Storrys About Shippy

New Years 2002, her standing on the countertop in the kitchen speking to the masses shortly aftermidnight. She said something profound and articulate about how everyone comes into her life with battles and pains, and although she does what she can to nurture and help, she is limited. the one thing she can always do is feed people, to show her devoltion and love for otehrs by suppling them hearty good food.

She smiled, i might dare to suggest, evily, at this point and happily announced that the dessert she had prepared for us was trumpet blast

sex in a pan.

It was the ocean field trip day at session two 2000, and we were all lying around being lazy...Dawn, Rick, Tessa, Mitchell, Erek, Marina, me and various other people who came in and out were all lying around in the kitchen in Dogwood, where most of us had been sleeping...anyway, we were making lots of crude jokes and lying all over each other and having a blast, and Shippy wandered by...she didn't say anything but she sure did look at us funny. Anyway, lunch time rolled around, and Dawn and Tessa and I decided that we should all trade clothing, to freak Shippy out. So we came out, Dawn and I both wearing Tessa's various shirts, Tess in my shirt and we'de switched socks all around...and went to lunch.

We sat down in front of Shippy to eat, giggling like crazy...kept poking each other and smirking with delight at our badness...Shippy processed to have a perfectly normal conversation with us, and at the end stood up, looked us right in the eyes, said 'Nice shirts, girls,' with a perfectly straight face, and walked off. Woo hoo does she have a sense of timing!

Samantha, and I had been sitting under a tree, and we were having conversations about our latest 'problems' with guys at camp. Well, Samantha was really listening to me talk about my problems, to be more accurate. Autumn soon joined us and we kept talking, I was in tears by this time. And then Shippy came along with a big smile on her face and brought us the gross tasting herbal tea that a lot of us had been drinking to help our colds, and a nice warm blanket. So we were tasting the tea and laughing, and i asked Shippy to take our picture. She did and i now have a very funny photo of Sam, Autumn, and I laughing with tea mugs in our hands, and I will always remember that Shippy took that picture. ~Nell

I remember talking to her about everything while we packed our stuff on the second-to-last day of camp at session 1. She was an amazing person to talk to, and that's exactly what I remember thinking while we were talking. I don't even recall what we were talking about! --Fiona

Place: Camp Myrtlewood Scene: It's session 2, 2000, and I am outside the dining hall, talking to Ryland. Another camper approaches with a lighter and a bottle of rubbing alcohol. Ryland takes one look at him and says "Please don't light your arm on fire!" the culprit looks at us, crestfallen. "But I was gonna do it for the talent show!", he says. We proceed to try to talk him out of doing this. I have given my best reason and walk away as Ry keeps working on him. I encounter Shippy on the way across the field. (See, this all does have to do with Shippy." Anyway, I flag her down and ask "Do you want to exercise your maternal instincts?" Shippy is promply all attention. She asks "what's the matter?" and prepares to give a supportive hug as I tell her. "Well, actually, it's not me. There's someone over there who wants to set his arm on fire." Shippy's face is immediately a picture of horror, and she rushes to the scene and begins intensive counseling. That's how I always remember her- at the moment she begins her sprint. --Chris B...

so one time, shippy offered me this cup of tea....no, really. um. i will always be in awe of how fast she can move with a backpack on, those girl guides must be TOUGH! but i am having trouble thinking of a story that does not involve her maternal instincts/morals. sigh. sorry babe. jenny

this isn't exactly a storry about Shippy... but this Rosh Hashana when I went to temple I kept thinking "Shippy would love this part" and "what would Shippy think of this?" and "Shippy would be doing this right now" and I even wrote a poem about her on a scrap of paper, but I lost it. Sigh. Does that count as a Shippy story? --marina
