Storrys About Wanderlust

Just wanted to add here that I'd like to be called "Eireann" from now on, not "Eryn"... because I feel like I've grown out of "Eryn". If that's too long/complicated for you, you can call me "Eire", "Wanderlust", or various other nicknames. Danke. -wanderlust the urban pixie, who is posting this in various other parts of wiki as well

Eire, Amy and I were staying in the youth hostel in eugene before second session... so we took a bus to what we thought would be a few blocks within monroe park. We even checked with the bus driver who told us "yep, after I let you off, just walk two blocks west". or something like that. so we walk. and we walk. and monroe park is not in sight. We were so lost, and finally i pulled out my handbook and found out that monroe park was about 13 or 14 blocks away (we were around 24th street). So here we were, lugging around this heavy luggage and it was starting to get pretty hot out. It was insane. I don't think I've let loose so many four letter words since I was in seventh grade :) But we walked all 13 blocks, and lived to tell about it...And along the way, we met these two girls who at first we thought were campers, but they really turned out to be just these two girls traveling up and down the west coast. They turned up later at monroe park too, and I gave them one of the bagels I had bought at Bagel Sphere. So the moral of this story is, even bus driver's directions can be a little off sometimes. -eira

I remember at camp '99 walking down the Lost Valley dirt road with Eryn and April, sometime in the late afternoon. I have a vague impressionistic memory of the sun getting low in the sky and the trees making long luxurious shadows. We talked about life and relating to people and relationships and camp so far, all the way down to where we met the paved road, and then we turned back and walked and talked some more.

I remember her saying some really funny things at the women's group that made me laugh.

I remember on the ocean trip day looking at her and suddenly being hit with an overwhelming awe of her hair. ;) (If you ever wanna trade, girl, let me know! ;) )

One thing I will always remember about Eireann is the time she wrote this totally awesome poem thing about the piano, and posted it to the list. I loved that poem, because I feel the same way about my viola sometimes. Anyway, that's my pathetic little memory of Eireann, and I'm going to work up another one now...

i remember waking up really early one morning in wisconsin and she was the only person who was up and she was making tea so we were really hyper and silly together and then by the time everyone else woke up we were totally exhausted and decided to try to take a nap together but we kept talking so that didn't work either. eirann and sleep dep go together nicely :) jenny
