A Twisted Fairy Tale

"I can't believe this is happening to me!" Exclaimed Dieda R'Saya as she watched her bedroom disappear from sight. It was slowly being replaced by a room with a sloping ceiling and stone walls. The next minute, she heard a startled voice ask her "Dieda??? What are you doing in my bedroom, we weren't expecting you for another week, at least!!??" Dieda looked around and spied a girl of about 16, sitting on a bed covered in the most beautiful fabric she had ever seen. "Uh, I have absoletely NO CLUE what I'm doing here. I mean, here I am, having the best day of my entire life and the next thing I know, I'm here. How do you know who I am, and WHAT do you mean, you weren't expecting me for another week??" The girl that had asked the question looked thoughtful for a moment, and then replied "Dieda, this is all very complicated, and I think that the best person to explain it is my sister Cecelia. You see, she must have used a summoning spell on you, time and time again I've warned her that meddling with summoning spells without Grandmother around will result in disaster. Just last week she tried to summon Princess Jasmine, but did something wrong, and poor Jasmine was stuck in the in between for nearly a day! Your very lucky you arrived in one piece. You probably don't remember me, but I'm Isabelle." As Isabelle finished speaking, Dieda who was looking quite astonished spoke, "You mean to tell me that the story of Aladdin & Princess Jasmine is real? Come on! Everyone knows it's just a fairy tale." "Well, said Isabelle, I suppose some wouls agree with you, but the fact is life is just a fairy tale anyway, so what does is matter? Now, personally I'd love to stand around chatting about reality and what not, but I'm supposed to meet Marion in the forest any minute now for target practice. So if you'll follow me, I'll show you the way to Cecelia's room, and she'll explain everything. Isabelle showed Dieda a hidden staircase behind a large tapestry of a dragon that was hanging on the wall. "Now, all you need to do is walk down the stairs until you reach the first landing, and then take the second door on the left. I really must be going now, or Marion will think I ditched her, and go off with Robin instead. Bye!" Dieda turned around and watched as Isabelle disappeared through the large double doors on the opposite side of the room. Dieda than took a step towards the stair case, then decided that before she went and saw this Cecelia chick, she'd do a little exploring on her own. So she waited a moment longer (to make sure Isabelle was gone) and then walked through the same double doors Isabelle had gone through moments before. Dieda found herself in an imensely long hallway that didn't seem to have an end. It was erie and as though someone was watching her, but everytime she turned around, there was nobody there.

"The next time I catch you asleep in my class, I will fail you!" Yvette was jerked awake by the loud, harsh voice of her math teacher Mrs.Talk. She must have fallen asleep in class again, the third time this week. Yvette tried with all her might, but as Mrs.Talk droned on about quadratic equations her eyelids got heavier & heavier and not ten minutes later she was fast asleep. She awoke with a start as she felt someone or something knock into her with full force. "I wasn't sleeping, honest Mrs.Talk!, It was then that Yvette opened her eyes. She blinked, and was soo happy to be out of that dreaded math class that it took her a moment to notice the girl lying face down on the stone floor in the torch lighted hallway in front of her.

Just about the time of the "incident" Slate was making for the same hallway to see if his sister Isabelle was in her room. He wanted to discuss what he had heard going on in Cecelia's bedroom, and had a feeling it wouldn't end up good. "Wow!" exclaimed Slate once he came upon the two girls. "So, you must be the after effects of Cecelia," he stated as he reached out to helo Yvette up. "Who the hell are you? And where am I?" Yvette questioned the boy that she figured to be about 15, the same age as her. He was probably 6'3" and had mahagany colored short hair. He was well built and kinda cute, she realized. "The famous question that seems to puzzle all of my sisters 'projects'. I'm Slate, and welcome to my castle! It really belongs to Merlin, but I tell all the people who come here it's mine." He grinned a pleasant smile that warmed up the hall a bit. "Since your here anyway, I'll answer your questions with deep consideration. All my buddy's are off at a mock battle, and I've been pretty bored. There's no one here to talk to, except my sisters and that's getting pretty old." "Okay, truth. I fell asleep in math class and awoke to find myself lying here on the floor. This girl looks like she passed out or something. Normally I'd be grateful to have gotten out of math class, but I don't like the idea of being someones plaything. So since I'm such a good natured person, I'd like to bring this girl to someplace where we can get her back on her feet and me, a ride home. We're at a supposed castle, and I'm guessing your sister is some kind of witch or something. I believe you so far, 'cause you seem to be a pretty nice person, I don't scare to easily and like adventure. So spill the rest and I'll be content." As this was said, they both went over to Dieda and boosted her up between them. Slate led them in the direction her was originally going in, before he ran into the newcomers. "I like your attitude. Your much easier than Joan of Ark and Prince Charming. They just couldn't take the idea of my sister studying to become a Doran and yada yada. They threw this huge fit, pleading for their lives and praying like we were satan worshippers or something. Truth be told, we are in the year 2000, but I can't tell you where we are. I don't even know. My Father had this great idea in '99; that the world was going to end or go into chaos in 2000, and that we needed to get away from it all. Dad's not your ordinary type of Father. He somehow warped us to this place with this machine thing. SOrt of like that episode of 3rd Rock when they could go to New York through their shower. We waited till New Years 2000 and saw everything to be okay, but the plan screwed up, because we have no way to get back. But that's okay, it suits me, I like it here and don't want to go back."
