Thoughts On Religion

-What are your thoughts/views/ideas/beliefs on religion or lack thereof? Do you go to church every sunday and completely believe in the bible, have you ever stepped into a church? Do you go to temple, or have family cedars? Celebrate the solstice? Cast spells? C'mon people, lets talk about your thoughts on religion... --Jadzia

(new stuff at the bottom)

I wasn't brought up with a definate religious belief/beliefs, my Dad is Jewish (basically reform) and my Mom is a Lutheran, for a long time I resented the fact that I wasn't brought up Christian, or Jewish, and didn't go to Church or Temple. But I've realized that I have an incredibly open view on religion because of that. I remember the year I was 12, I met this girl, Rachel. She was a Very Christian homeschooler, and totally turned me on to christianity. I gave up swearing, started praying, and went to church wih her family. Then when I started to realize that a lot of what the church was saying was against my beliefs (they were anti-gay, down on other faiths etc..) I stopped going to church. Rachel pretty much told me that if I wasn't going to be a devout christian, she wasn't going to be friends with me anymore, so her & I haven't been friends for awhile. I started reading a lot of books on the old religions, like the Druids that sorta thing. I read The Mists of Avalon, and that first turned me on to a whole new set of beliefs, thoughts on life. Like the belief that Jesus didn't want people to worship him, he wanted to spread the message of peace, love and acceptance. Recently the Valley (where I live) got it's first Jewish Temple started. The Rabbi is an incredible man, with such loving, accepting ideas. So lately I've been learning about the Jewish religion. I don't know exactly where my faith lies, or what exactly I believe in. I guess I will just end this with, I believe in God, the power of prayer and the goodness that can be found in everyone. I would love to hear everyones thoughts on this subject, thats why I started this page!! ~Jasmine S.

What is religion for me ? I do not believe in organised religion.I believe that if some one wishes to whorship or believe in something that there view is uniquely theres .if the world was created ,if there is a god or what happens to one when one dies is not important to me.I realy am impartial to death ,I treat it as an eventuality,I live not in its shadow, I live to experience and to learn .I think that people are all to willing not to question and not to think.I believe education is to question.I believe that the only thing any one need to know is to question all,and how to ask the right questions and in questioning one may learn how to do that.I believe imagination is the only true creator and I believe that it will be our saviour, but only if we want to be saved and only if we are willing to learn and forever ask questions, for after all in games as in life ,its not whether you win or lose its how you play that counts.

We are yet animals. We can no more grasp the alien nature of reality than a cat can learn chess. Truly, we are unimportant. We look into the ocean and see our own reflection. We must then be the ocean! Nay! Our Gods are nothing more than avatars of our own foolish delusions - self importance, meaning, salvation, strife, balance, and pain. We are ghosts in the machine, and nothing more. Our days are numbered, so do as thou wilt.

I believe that g*d didn't want people to get in wars over there religious beliefs. I believe that jesus did not want to be worshipped (yes i know that was said at the top). That he just wanted to help people understand their g*d more and to let them know they are loved and not alone. I believe there is a g*d, and i believe that things happen because they are meant to be. They don't have to be good reasons, but just for a reason. All people are loved by their god, and we should all respect each other for who we are. Don't hate, it only spreads the hatred throughout the world.

                                              ~*~

right now i will say that god is dead. but that's just cuz i'm a silly emotional cancer and i know i'm gonna be the cute lil pagan that i am tomorrow morning. and yes, i agree that jesus didn't want to be worsipped. they actually found scriptures from when he taught karma and reincarnation..the book is called "the lost teachings of jesus christ" if anyone wants to read it...pretty interesting. but for now, after visiting my dad's house and being thoroughly depressed, my opinion is that god is dead. but it will look better in the morning

God is where it's at. the Bible says before Tribulation (Jesus' return to Earth), the Rapture will take the Believers to the Heavens. after that, it's every pagan for him/herself; by this time satan will have taken his place on the throne, and those of us left behind by the Rapture will have a final chance to choose whether to be swayed by satan or answer Christ's calls. in prayer i ask that i might bare witness to this Holy act, because i think it's hardcore. will i be swept up in His rapture? or will it take fires swallowing the earth before my eyes to convince me that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died so that i could live? this is what i believe in my heart, but often my actions show otherwise. i am a sinner, we all are. but Christ burns in my chest and i'm so excited about my future in Him. so stinking excited. ~naomi

p.s. the Bible says Jesus wanted to be worshipped as part of the Living God
(the third part of the trinity being the Holy Spirit). the Book vibes that
He didn't want to be worshipped as a mere man or prophet, but as what He
was: the emobiement of God, the Son of God.
