What You Say

Okay! Now it works! *laugh* Anyway, I am very curious to know what words & phrases & such you say a lot. I want to get a lot of responses, so post away!

• "Hiya" (one of my first words, and also I think influenced by the TV show "Rhoda"... As in "Hiya, Rhode!")
• "Hi-hi" (from my favorite TV show, "Remember WENN")
• "Bravo." (Deadpan.)
• "Reouwr" (um, you really gotta hear that one... It's a sort of sarcastic cat-growling noise... Sort of... For use in response to someone over-reacting)
• "Bialyshtock und Bloooom? Bialyshtock und Bloooom? Gut da por day! Bialyshtock und Bloooom?" (this is only lately... See "The Producers"a very good movieand you'll understand)

um... geez... I thought there were more than this. Oh well. -JessicaSkater

I say "but yeah." a whole lot. it seems to complete most sentences rather well... I also insert 'like' in a lot of places... what can I say, I'm a California girl... it's my duty! You know, I'd also be interested in what other people notice me, and others, saying a lot... marina just noticed that i say "there you go" a lot, but only verbally so i don't notice it as much as things i write too.

I think I've mastered the art saying "Ummm", "Uhhh", "Hmmm", "Mmm-hmmm", "Ah", and "Uh-huh". I use them a lot during normal conversation, and I use them even more when I'm nervous (they're rather evasive words, I guess). Saying "Ummm" and "Uhhh" can turn into a superstitious behavior, since they're usually used when one is trying to think of something. Then the word gets linked to the action of remembering something or thinking, and poof! One can become convinced that it's easier to think when one's saying "Ummm" or "Uhhh". Interesting how the mind works, isn't it?

Sadly (Or not), most of these come from either Adrian or Dean. But the terms I use a lot are...

"This is so my birthday!" "The end." "Is it go time? Is that it? Huh?? Is it time to go?" "Harsh" "Dude" "Yeah. Or.."

I'm probably forgetting something. If anyone remembers something you've heard me say a lot, put it on the list..
