Words Arranged By Mari

ever since i can remember i've loved to write.. off and on, though. i think my longest amount of time of being.. practically afraid to write, ended on the train ride home from camp. thank god. so i'll post some of it, since i .. have a strong urge to. :) although this still feels terribly embarassing.

 blinking
 at the stars
 trying to understand
 how they became so bright
 or staring
 at the moon
 and its subtle light
 that reaches
 it is like
 watching
 you.

 truly
 give in
 to whatever
 made you
 alive.
 stop
 blink
 pray
 and breathe.
 send a message
 with an angel
 be brave
 and don't
 give in
 just
 give in.

 there it lies,
 my heart pours out
  like water
 into the dirt
 of a plastic willow
 tree.

 we can flow like
   water
 and quench our own
   souls.
 we can be flames
 and lick the earth
 send smoky angels
 into
 the air.
 we can pretend we're asleep
 but grow secretly
 until our faces crawl
 above
 the
 ground.
 we can fly,
   and push the world along.

 in a dream i
 reach out my arm
 not like real life
 not like when my eyes
 open
 and blink too fast
 for me to count.
 brings me to
 sugary tears, this time
 maybe cause
 i want -you -.

   butterflies turned
 to angry birds
   flapping their wings
 scattering feathers
   all over
   the insides of my belly.
 i
 swallowed.

 its raining
 soft teardrops
 'cause
 i am leaving.
 it's
 too cold
 to move
 so fast.
 i wondered
 if we rushed
 the sunrise.

these poems copywrite me. hopefully if ive been an inspiriation, it is an inspiration to create your own. :)

oh, yeah.. and commentary is very much welcome!
