  that if i had wings
  like your softly hanging
  gold
  wings
  i would be an angel too
  and it's not quite a secret
  that you told me
  to look and not touch
  because i have an
  obsessive personality
  and lord only knows what 
  i might do
  and so
  my secret fears and dreams
  live in my underwear drawer
  and i don't touch...
  i just look
  
  it's not quite a secret 
  that i sometimes attempt 
  to attract attention to myself
  and it's no secret that
  my doing that
  drives you insane
  and lord only knows what
  i can do
  and so you stand back and watch
  from a distance
  and i don't sing...
  i just breathe
  
  it's not quite a secret
  that you don't make
  the perfect boyfriend
  or that
  sometimes
  you blurt out
  imperfections of the people 
  around you
  which isn't exactly perfect
  of you
  and so sometimes
  i wonder 
  where you got those
  softly hanging gold wings
  on your back
  and sometimes
  i suspect that
  the answer is closer
  to hot topic than
  heaven
  
  it's not quite a secret
  that i have an obsessive personality
  or that i sometimes attempt
  to attract attention to myself
  and it's no secret
  that you're not
  perfect either
  but lord only knows what
  i can do
  so maybe you'll want
  to leave your 
  holier-than-thou
  additude
  and your
  softly hanging gold wings
  at home next time
  so i won't be tempted
  to touch and not just look.
