Your Future

In the future (which can be anywhere from one minute to fifty years away), where do you want to be, and what do you want to be doing?

What do you actually see yourself doing, if it's different from what you want to be doing?

Where I want to be: I want to be on a farm, somewhere not too far away from where I am now. I don't want to go west, since I like it in the east, and I don't want to go farther south, because heat really gets to me. Maybe Kentucky, maybe elsewhere in Tennessee. Maybe I'll just stay here and take over my mother's land (not very considerate, but I like this land).

The farm I'll live on has to have some type of natural water running through it, because I have to have something to sit by or swim in on hot days. It has to have wooded areas, lots of them, because I have to have somewhere to hike. It has to have fields, too, because grass needs to grow for the animals, and I need somewhere to put a big garden.

It has to have a big hay barn, and a shed or two, because I need somewhere for the old-but-still-running tractor to sit, and I need to store hay. It has to have a big barn for the animals, too.

It needs to have someone besides me living there, because if I get sick then someone's going to have to feed everyone for me, and I'd like help with the work, anyway.

What I want to be doing: I want to invest my time into a lot of little things instead of one big thing. I want to be a farming-shepherdess-dog trainer type person. I want to train dogs, and I want to tend to the farm and animals in my free time.

Unfortunately, I don't quite know how to make that happen, since I'll have to work a lot when I start training.

Tomorrow is my birthday, and I want to wake up early (before 9 AM, which is early for me ) and walk downtown. I want to wander around all day, writing poetry. Maybe I'll buy some bubble solution and blow bubbles on State Street. If the Art Museum is open I want to go in there and write. I want to walk around places I've never been to before, not just downtown. I want to put in my contact lenses and wear a tie-dye shirt and make people do a double take. I want to finish my 15^th year being creative, happy, and independant.

As far as the long term future goes... Well, at some point I want to spend a year traveling around Europe.
