apprenticeship program

We are looking for 2 flexible, energetic, friendly people to apprentice at the Dream House each session. Apprentices help with a variety of aspects of the Dream House, including grunty stuff like post-session cleaning. Benefits include participating in the "goals and dreams" project, trying on the different staff roles, and being of service to a bunch of great kids. For an application, click here. The deadline for applying is 3 months prior to the session you are interested in--July 9 for Session 1. 

internship program

Internships are available to people who have already apprenticed with us and so basically know the ropes. (Exceptions: for our first session we want an intern even though she/he won't have already spent a session living in the Dream House. And in some cases, we might make internships available to non-apprentices who are alums of the Dream House.) To apply for an internship, you basically propose a project that would benefit the house (such as: researching charter school requirements, building us a potting shed, learning to teach our goal workshops, researching local opportunities and experts and adding them to our resource data bank, etc.). Though they'll spend most of their energy on their project, interns also spend about 10 hours a week doing particular things assigned by our staff.
