Cloudy Weather

So here's my spiel... For as long as I can remember, I have loved cloudy rainy windy weather, fog-sleet-snow-thunderstorms.. Some people call this Bad weather, myself I call it good. Much like the Dennistons in That Hideous Strength by C.S. Lewis for those who have read it. I know there must be more people with this opinion out there! • Jessica Jessica Jessica!! I love clouds! They make for awesome photographic opportunities (otherwise known as photo ops... hehe). Clouds are also gorgeous to lay on the grass and watch, too... even if it's raining
  • Dan Frampton, CloudyWeather lover (though I enjoy sunny days..a little..:-). Just Recently we've been getting cloud mosaics overhead for a week straight here in Indiana, and its been just beautiful, and we also got some Winter-greyclouds that put you in that interesting depression that me and marina have discusssed..
  • -marina although I only enjoy it December through mid February. Any other time it makes me depressed.
  • RobertAlder who lives in vancouver where it's wuite frequently good/bad weather whatever you wanna call it and doesn't particularly care about the weather but thinks that people shouldn't just plain hate it.
  • I like cloudy days! They put me in quiet, intense, creative moods..usually! I have Cloudy Day soundtracks. Fiona Apple's Tidal, for one. - Emma
  • wanderlust likes cloudy days, warm misty rain that goes with coffeeshops and poetry and numbing calmness floating through the day, quiet happiness and intense sadness, a time to go far away in a chariot of mist.
  • I don't know how anyone could say they hate rain. It's absolutely essential, I love it. There are so many different types of cloudy and rainy days. I love them all. I seriously go out and watch thunderstorms, usually until it gets to rainy to see. Now, being almost fall, there aren't many. Last week though, there were a few days that were cold, dark cloudy and wet. I like those days, the energy behind the darkness and weak light, fast moving clouds and rain, wind, rain awakens my creativity. Carrie, born during an icestorm in January
  • I am not signing this to be against anything because that sucks ass, but I would just like to say that I enjoy the weather to have many ranges. I love storms :) ~Erin
  • Rain! Thunderstorms! Clouds! Dreariness!!!! Two thumbs up from these hands of mine. I'm all for it. Maybe I really should move to Seattle. -courtney
  • I love rain. Though I still maintain that Arizona rain is the best kind. - Naela
  • Fiona loves clouds... and rain... especially when they make for spectacular rainbows like yesterday....
  • erynne really likes clouds and rain. especially right before it's gonna rain and it's really windy. erynne gets really silly and feels like running really far and really fast when the weather is like that. she's seen a lot of interesting looks on peoples faces when she gets like this. ~erynne

Yesterday, it rained. Like, really rained for the first time since spring. I had to break out my raingear to go biking, and it was wonderful. The air was that crisp, damp cool, just too cool to be out without a sweater. I had my favorte wool sweater on, a nice black one with brocade on the front, nice and subtly done. The sweater reminds me of my family in Argentina (who sent me the thing). The rain reminds me of days (or evenings, since that's when it rains in Denver) spent sitting on the porch with my dad, the two of us curled up in a big blanket, he drinking his maté, his favortie warm drink, and me, sometimes with cocoa or tea, sometimes just nothing. Sometimes I was wet, from playing in the early part of the storm, sometimes we couldn't really go off of the porch for fear of lightning. Either way, it was wonderful, just being there, looking at the rain, filling the street, the yard, flowing down the gutters, feeling very alive and at the same time, peaceful.

Corvallis rain like yesterday isn't that intense, just constant, more of a mood than an event; I mean, I went walking it it and didn't get drenched. Even with an unbrella, that's a feat if it's really raining. It wasreally enjoyable, walking along with the leaves beginning to turn colors.

I am happy.

princessraina simply adores wet weather, particularly in the summer. she goes and gets soaked and dances in it, particularly if it's lightning. princessraina is is a wetweather personage.

I love that charge in the air as a thunderstorm approaches. It's the tingle of anticipation made tangibly real. That ionized zing is a perfect complement to the stress/adreneline reation of racing to prepare for the storm, which is something I've done a bit of in my time- my job involves extensive work on top of metal towers, so you finish before the storm hits or you wait it out. Working in the rain is ok, if miserable, but lightning means head for the truck and watch clouds till it quits.-- Chris B...
