Empty Altoids Boxes

So... we all love altoids (right??), and they come in these awesome, indestructable (except for when you fill them with water and freeze them and throw them at the street. Just Don't Ask.) little boxes. What do you do with the empty boxes?

I don't really have a good use for my Altoid tins, I'm accumulating a fair collection now though. The reason for going through so many I've decided is because every bleedin time I pop one in my mouth, I give 4 away... tsk tsk. Cheap bastards... *grumble* -sez Adrian

Wow, okay this page makes me want to start eating altoids! I have one teeeny tiny little altoids box that is way too small to keep anything in. if I had an altoids box i would keep movie stubs, saftey pins, funky beads, bits of yarn, very tiny ghosts, gum, earings, mismatched hair clips, pennies, server reports from work, paychecks, emergancy cash.... gee whiz, looks like I need to go get me a shitload of altoids so I can use the boxes!

First I used them for collecting change, but somehow I ran out of tins, so I went over to having the lids blown off instead (hah!), but as it happens it didn't harm them much. So I keep them piled neatly in the closet according to flavor. (~laughs~) ~Danopian, horribly neat person~

Well, I have them scattered all over my room... along with most of my life... but altoids (and their boxes) rock my world, so if I get lonely I can sniff them or try growing an exotic fungus in them or maybe invent an invisable friend who is very very small that lives in it.

• and my brother blew the lid off of one with a little black cat type'a'thingy.
• For a little color veriaty I bought some 'everest' gum. I't sorta tastes like altoids (I like it better. I don't like altoids. *looks around* did i say that out loud? GULP) any who it comes in a really pretty blue and white mostly indestructibe box.

Ruth Oh yeah. And I bum the altoids boxs off my brother.

• Keep change in them
• Bobby Pins!
• they're quite handy for keeping guitar picks out of your way
• I keep altoids in them, too.
• Leave them sitting around the house to trip over and kick around and finally get really mad and throw them away.
• Keep tea bags in them! (beat ya' to it, Dan)
• Collect them and show off what a loser you are for collecting empty Altoids boxes.

• Make puppets out of them and start a little Altoid box village
• After you have several puppets, make Altoid box castles and post offices for said village
• Turn them into tiny drums (using pencils for drumsticks)
• Keep cat treats in them (Really! My cats chew through plastic, but not metal)
• Hammer them flat and make shingles out of them
• Make a house for your pet spider, or alternatively, use them to smash spiders with
• Use them as sleds for rodents
• Don't forget to make Altoid Box cars for your puppets so they can *get* to your Altoid box post office!

• how do you make puppets out of them? This sounds interesing.
• First, you turn an empty one upside down (unless you're making a pelican, in which case you'd leave it right side up). Then you find 2 small springs and superglue them inside the corners of the box and lid. Now you can close the mouth and it'll spring back open. Ping-pong balls glued to the top of the box make good eyes. Be creative.

most creative thing I saw done with a Altoids tin was done by a old NBTSCer, some of you that have been to just about every single one since the first may remember him, Nick Kviatkofsky. anyway, he made a wallet out of it. it worked nicely. my brother is making mock up drug thingers out of it.. for example, in one of them, he has a mirror, a razor blade and a little bag of powdered sugar (in place of cocaine obviously.. why would he need real drugs when he's got sugar?). and so on and so forth. I have one just holding random crap at the moment. I don't have many, cause I personally don't like Altoids like much *crowd gasps* oh shut up. that's all. Fin. -Lydia ®

Most people keep their narcotics in them, up here. Cigs/joints don't get smashed in back pockets, matches and lighters stay dry, and all that for only a buck. I'm going to pick a box up tomarrow for chalk. Chalk's a good thing to have around. Grafiti, messages, gang signs. .knacky. -Adam

well once my uncle JackHollingsworth took these pictures of me, right? an they were real small, and i decided that i wanted to have copies made so i could give them to my extremely attractive male friends for them to carry in their pockets.. why? just because it's so damn girly and ridiculous (but lots of my boys still carry 'em! aww...) so like they'd get wrinkled in my wallet.. but then i stuck them in one of my many handy-dandy little altoid boxes. so sheik. hmm. i also carry ciggarettes in em sometimes. right now their holding loose change, notes, sentimental stubs, passes, whatnot. they're so damn useful.

i have this one altoids box that i've had for almost...six years. i kept it in my locker when i went to school and my best friend at the time stuck a sticker on the lid and i still have it. odd what you hold on to. -EmilyOh

As far as I know they're along the lines of cough drops, or, rather, ARE (cough drops), I suppose. But as I said at the bottom of the page, I don't think I've ever had one. Interesting fact in a magazine...said a woman should eat a whole bunch of altoids before giving a guy a blow job...that the menthol transfers to her...and makes it a more...*ahem*...pleasureable experience. ~Jasmine

I keep beads in mine mostly, one has needles. Oh but I also just acquired one of those Really Big altoid boxes, so I'll have to think of something ultra creative for that one. mostly they're just lying around my room, in my school bags, and popping up in odd places (such as my sock drawer. i have no idea) RoyaBoya

I keep barrettes in mine. I tried keeping some jewelry in an Altoids box once, on a roadtrip, but my lotion leaked into the box and made everything rusty, so that didn't work out so well. Hannah
