GIF Graphic Interchange File. A type of image file, simelar (When viewed, anyway) to JPG or BMP files, GIF files are distinctave, in a few ways from other "Web" image files, most notably because they can be animated. There has been some debate as to the correct prounciation of the word "GIF" Many people say "G. I. F.", others say "Jiff" however if the letters do in fact stand for Graphic Interchange File, then GIF, as read phonetically should be the correct term...
