And if we were using HTML, then I wouldn't have to make this a link just because it is made of all uppercase letters!
*Aah, but it should be a link, see? HTML is something that can be defined
like that, so it should be a link /(Ari)/
Maybe there could be a way to use both HTML and wiki?

Problem is, you use HTML, they have to use HTML to edit it. We don't want everyone to have to use HTML, so we don't use HTML. (Ari)
(if someone wants to use this link and write there own description of HTML, be my guest)
*First off, I need to nail all-caps as a link, I think. I'll try to figure
it out.
*secondly, Wiki isn't HTML, HTML isn't Wiki. If you want ot use HTML, make
yourself a WebPage. The point is to have a little WabiSabi and elegance.
/(Ari)/
hum... to risk getting too many things at the bottom of the page, perhaps an option like the thing with the tabs, to make HTML usable for those who wish to use it. Oh, and yeah, all caps to make links has got to go. How
about sersounding the word or words with some fairly obscure, unused simbol, like... er...% or something?
~z~
Nope. No HTML, sorry! Just toooo many problems. And hey, if having all-caps is bothersome, don't use 'em <wink>. The reason to leave all caps in is for acronym definitions, and if you ask me, that's a major thing (NBTSC and HTML being the best examples of acronyms we talk about.)
- Sidenote #1: you can use the "b", "p", and "i" tags to your heart's content. If you can't do something with that, forget it and make a WebPage (Ari)
- Actually, WikiMarkup is more powerful than WikiHTML now. Hah! Simpler to learn, too. (Ari)
- Sidenote #2: I may add HTML support some time in the future, but it requires rewriting the whole Wiki backend (and perhaps all the pages, too..). Don't get your hopes up. (Ari)
- Well, I'm not going to. Wiki is too cool the way it is, and the new backend would be slower. (Ari)
Also, allowing HTML on a publicly accessible Wiki is a security risk. SteveWainstead
Though that can be fixed if you parse the HTML and remove spurious stuff (Ari)
