I think looking into Gabe's eyes is one of the most amazing experiences I will ever have. I always felt so honored every time Gabe took the time out to talk to me. he overflows with sweetness. and he's SO appreciative of everything nice people do for him. it's like he doesn't even realize how wonderful he is, and so he's always so humbled and surprised when he finds out how much he's loved. watching him play guitar is beautiful, the way he flows with the music. it really is his language. i am so grateful to have connected with gabe. one of the first people I talked to at Camp Myrtlewood. He's deep and gentle, caring, intelligent and just so gosh darned good n amazing. Wow. He's the kind of person you could really tell anything to. Gabe took the time to speak with me on numerous occasions, I especially remember sitting by the swimming hole (one of my fave places) just thinking by myself and him sitting down next to me and offering me some of his pretty strange Chinese tea. He works so long and hard in the dish line just so he can be around campers and then he hangs out with me. He is gifted with a myriad of musical skills, (it seems to run in the family. Man, what exactly are you Lesters drinking at home), and he really feels it when he dances, sings, or plays. Gabriel...an angel's name. He's beautiful inside and out and he wears shorts when I'm freezin' : ). He really made camp better for me. Everyone loves you Gabe The Dish Queen. - Kim W.

A fabulous musician and a really good dancer. When he's dancing or playing, I feel like he's really there, feeling it. Never just going through the motions at all. He really feels every note and every step. I love that. And he played my favorite Beatles song, Blackbird, and pulled it off perfectly. (~summer)

One of my first friends at NBTSC. He just welcomed me right off and has served as a friend and confidont all this time. I wish I could hang out with him more.

The only person who has ever serenaded me. He's also a really cool guy to hang with, a most incredible hugger (as mentioned above), has this uncanny ability to make any person in his presence feel loved and apreciated, and is one of the most flexible musicians I've ever met. And I know a lot of musicians! He's honest - very, very honest, both to himself and to the world. Even if his opinion is not the most popular, he sticks to it and doesn't waffle for anybody. That's probably what I admire most about him, and wish I could emulate. I mean, you can be the most tallented, charismatic person on the face of the earth, but if you can't stay true to yourself, what then? Not that he isn't tallented and charismatic... not at ALL! In fact, he's, well, Gabe. We'll just leave it at that. Samantha

Gabe is so beautiful! Sometimes I'd just start staring at him from across a room and I couldn't stop! Gabe is exceptionally sweet. One time I helped give him a massage, and he sincerely said that it was the best day of his life. I love how he applies glitter to your eyebrows in the dish line!
