Project Cold Taco

Project Cold Taco was concieved on Jan. 6^th 2002 by Zaria Silverwing and Candra Kennedy, while sitting up in Candra's small library and discussing the future.

Basically, neither of us wanted to grow up, have a husband, 2.3 kids and a house in the suburbs. We feel like there are other alternatives, and we sure as hell aren't going to pass them up.

So we concieved the plan.

A big house, a fixer-uper, in the lovely comunity of Portland Maine. Candra has visited Portland, and it is a wonderful comunity, with lots of interesting things to do, interesting, wonderful people, several theatres (community and proffesional) and an ocean. A group of up to ten un-schoolers. A whole lot of imagination and hard work. Big fluffy couches. Lots of bright paint everywhere. Dumpster diving, thrifting, wandering, living, growing, laughing and loving.

Both of us (Candra and Zaria) are planning on attending college, so at a minimum, Project Cold Taco would begin in 2006. Even if we don't get a lot of people interested, Zaria and Candra are still planning on moving to Maine and sharing a house, (a big huge house with lots of nooks and crannys full of books, light, love, funky furniature, free thought, hand painted dishes and curtains) and you all would be welcome to visit, and work on the house.

And yes, "Project Cold Taco" is a very, um, "different" name, but hey, we're different people!
