| The Eugene Public Library |
Describe TheEugenePublicLibrary here.
I've been in Eugene for almost a week now (as of April 2nd), staying at the hostel most nights and hanging out with Joe (at the moment he's off looking for a movie or aldous huxley biography, or somethin.)
Before Eugene, I was in North Fork, California (The exact geographic center of the state, no less.)I sat a 10 day silent meditation course at the California Vipassana Center there, where Claudia and Michae have been "serving" since December. And I visited the now-almost-completed (it's fully livable and homey) strawbale house I worked on for two and a half weeks in October last year. It's beautiful, white-stucco, simple. The niches in the wall and the beveled window and door frames with their woobles and curves look really nice.
I spent last friday and saturday at the organic farm where Joe works. Helped to build some mega compost piles (archiatectural biological marvels, they are) and shovel shit from cow pens and plant seeds. I messed some stuff up, but had a pretty good time all round.
I don't know how much longer I'm going to stay here. I feel unsettled, and some desire to be home, but I'm getting pretty attached to being here with Joe too...
