 i often wonder
 why i'm the way i am

 is it because i'm frightened
 or simply
 who i am?

 why can't i be satisfied
 with the things i have?

 why am i always looking
 for something /more/

 i'm never content
 to simply wait and see

 i have to say something
 do something
 be somewhere

 i hide behind this mask
 and than i worry
 that no-one really knows me

 why can't i be satisfied
 with the way i am?

 so i'm not great at math
 i can't give you the dates
 from important historical events

 so what?
 who cares?

 i write poetry
 make jewelry
 i'm a lifeguard
 
 i'm a lawyer
 a judge
 
 i'm an individual
 i cook
 i sew
 
 i love to learn

 thats the person i wish people would see...
