Looking for someone? Have a general question? Lost someones e-mail address? Post here.

For those of you who don't know, Damian, Gabriel and I have become a fully functional band over the last several months. We're called Abandon Ship. We're sounding really good and are getting a pretty good response at our shows. We are playing mostly in Eugene right now but soon will be all over Oregon and some in southern California. Eventually we will play your town! If you want on our mailing list, write an email saying so to abandon-ship at nbtsc.org and we'll keep you updated. Our current plans are to play out as much as we can--clubs and festivals mostly--in the next few months and then record our first album in Joshua Tree during the month of July, to be released around the first of the year, 2003. It's pretty cool to have nearly 40 original songs to choose from for the record. Maybe some early mixes will be available to listen to at NBTSC 2002. ~Nathen

I've been contacted (through my semi-defunct Schoolfree site at http://www.nbtsc.org/schoolfree) by a highschool student who would love to learn more about unschooling. What's more, she's the editor of her school newspaper, and they're doing a special section comparing different schools -- sending writers to shadow students in different schools and report back -- and she'd like to do the same for an unschooler (my suggestion would be to do at least two though, since we're so varied!). So, she was wondering if there are any unschoolers in Illinios, Wisconsin, or Indiana who would be willing to be followed around for a day and interviewed. Let me know (ns at canada.com) and I'll pass your email address on to her.

Adios!

I finally put up my session 2 camp pictures, and I'm insanely proud of myself for getting around to it (even though a lot of my pictures are of somewhat bad quality), so now I feel the need to announce it all over the place... http://photos.yahoo.com/eerieEira -eira

Noam is looking for Naela (Zinniazayda / Rachael K). Does anyone know her email address? Please let me know! Either reply here, or go to http://wondermill.com/feedback_noam.htm and use my feedback form there (I don't post my email on websites any more cause it gets me too much spam. Ick.) --~Noam

I just wanted to note that Erynne is not me, even though I used to spell my name "Eryn". I don't spell my name that way anymore. For that matter, I'm not Eira either, although I spell my name "Eire" (with an e at the end) as a nickname for my regular one. Just making sure people don't get us mixed up :) --Eireann

A map is what I need, one of Eugene Oregon... so I don't get lost, and all that fun stuff, so if you have one, and can mail it to me in the next few days, that would be lovely, or if you know where I can get one... (chamber of comres usely have them for free, right?) that would be nice too! --Ryland

  • No worries, Ryland! You can pick them up right at the train station. But even so, the streets are very easy to navigate. --Eireann

Hiya everyone!

I am in search of fellow travelers who are interested in going to Spain with me this October! Come on, it'll be fun!

I'm planning to spend a week or two in England (I have family there, but if anyone's interested in joining me there, that'd be great too), then continuing on to Madrid, Toledo, and possibly other as-of-yet-undecided parts of Spain. I'm going mainly to see a particular painting (Las Meninas by Diego Velazquez, ask me to gush about it sometime), so I plan to be in the Prado museum quite a bit, but I'm open to exploring other things too...

Email me if you're interested in coming, or can suggest fun things to do in Spain and England--emerie at nbtsc.org. Looking in particular for individuals who speak better Spanish than I do! -Emerie

Anyone have Lauren Wale's e-mail addy or phone number? I'm in cincy now =) -Adam B

ATTENTION! RAE needs your creativity!!! Click RAE's name and read about it on her page! (I will take the link down in a couple days if you want me to... if I dont... YOU can!)

Does anyone have a copy of "Composed in the composing room"?? It's a poem by either E.E. Cummings or Franklin Pierce Adams... or both. I dunno. Anyways, if you've got it, could you please either e-mail me a copy, or post it on Wiki somewhere? (fiona at nbtsc.org) Thanks. --Fiona

Does anyone have Shad (Polyergic)'s email address? I would appreciate it muchly. Thank ya'! --Fiona

Three items:

first, two questions:

  • does anyone have Hannah Alexander's address?
  • can someone give me Sarah Chipp's phone number at college?

..and one announcement:

  • I'll be using a different e-mail than my normal nbtsc account over the summer, (while I'm in Japan, May 25th-July 25th) which may be easier for me to check while I'm there. It's

rose_abroad at hotmail.com

You can e-mail me there as well if you have the answers to my questions above. Thanks all y'all! --Rosemary

Marina's post reminded me of the bed time camp issue- does anybody by chance know what's going to actually happen? *Jekissa*

Anyone LookingForASummerJob?

National Sleep Awareness Week is March 26th through April 1st. I know I usually stay up pretty late, especially on IRC. What I want to do for this week (next week, that is) is try to go to bed earlier, and it'd be a lot more fun for me if other people got off IRC fairly early too, so I know I'm not missing a whole lot... So I guess this is a proposal for fellow IRCers, mostly... Wanna get some sleep next week? Put another way... Let us, as a community, care for our health and the health of others! heehee. --marina

Okay. I just wanted to say that we (finally) are on the internet and I have e-mail! So write me franban86 at yahoo.com to talk about anything. Even if you don't know me! I always want to hear from unschoolers. So write to me and talk to me about, life, love hate, confusian or anything else! Franny

Um yeah does anyone know a way to stop missing ppl? anyone? (too bad) --Heather

Okay... I'm on a Mission From God, and I need some of your help. My friend Katie (whom I'm going to visit on Friday) and I used to listen to Radio Oz, and it played kid songs... there were a few favorites that they always played, along with a few that we just listened to a lot.

  • There was one with Baby Gail.. by Tom Chapin, I believe, and they were playing hide and seek and they found these ghosts that only wanted to play with them. I need the title of that, if possible. (mom thinks it's "the ghosts of bleak street")
  • Yet another that went "one zero zero zero zero zero zero, zero zero zero-woah-woah-woah, zero zero zero zero zero zero; zero zero zero zero zero zero-woah-woah" called "googleplex"... I need the artist (and a place to get it) for that one.
  • And an-other- that had something to do with an alligator and some monkeys, and the monkeys were making fun of the alligator that wanted to eat them, and eventually they all got eaten. We used to dance on Katie's living room table with her older sister, my younger brother, and her sister's friend, while her brother was the alligator.
  • And another one that went "welll, hippa-hippa-hippa-hippopotamus rock. well, hippa-hippa-hippa-hippopotamus rock. well, hippa... hippopotamus rock" That I'm *pretty* sure was called "hippopotamus rock". I need the artist and a place to get it.
    • nevermind. Found it! -JessicaSkater
      • Rozenshonts!!! You Rock!!! I Loved them so much.- Lorin
        • Yeah, well, I found them on PlayJ, which SUCKS. Grr... but I guess that's better than nothing. -JessicaSkater

Thank you so much if you can even get me one of these. I'm trying to make a mixed CD with a bunch of songs that we have a "thing" with. I've already got the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme song, along with Woody Woodpecker's, I've got Don't Play With Bruno, and a couple songs from Beauty and the Beast (we watched it almost every day until we wore out my copy), and I'm going to keep looking for some of those songs I just listed... could take a while. I'd like to have it by friday, but I don't think that's realistic. Thanks again! -JessicaSkater

All you musician songwriter types should check out http://www.kerrville-music.com/newfolk.htm! And enter and stuff, and if you're picked, then you come visit me and we drive to Kerrville! Yeah! - Emma

Hi! My name is Emily, I went to camp in '97, and I've never posted on this before so I hope I'm doing it right. I'm from NY but I'm coming to Northern CA on January 13th. I'm looking for people to stay with, as well as a place to live for a few months. If anyone knows of anyone who knows of anyone who has a room to rent to an unschooler, I'd love to hear about it. I'd like to be in the Bay Area and near public transportation. I'm spending the first week or so with Rosie (yea!), who suggested I post up here. Anyway if you have any ideas, or don't and just want to visit, contact me at emilyrh at aol.com I'm leaving on the tenth. yea for the train! Thanks so much, Emily ps I hope Lotus is feeling better. I can sympathize with the low blood sugar! I get it so easily.

Ah... Lotus had a little... er, accident. She was dyeing her hair at momma's apartment in the Twin Cities, didn't eat enough so she had low blood sugar, and passed out from a combo of the fumes and the blood sugar... thing. She hit her head on the heater and has 7 stitches in her eyebrow. (thank god it didn't hit her eye, ). Some prayers would be appreciated, we all want her to feel better before she heads out to Adam D's. --Ali

  • yowch. Mom and I are sending good vibes. In mom's words, "poor baby!" -JessicaSkater
  • Eek. Love to her! --Ari
  • Ouch! So sorry Lotus. Did the hair come out well anyhow? --Ruth
  • oo... sending good thoughts here too... --marina

December 26th, 2000

Okay...I have an Announcement... I'm going to start going by Rosemary instead of Rosie in this new year 2001. You can call me Rosie if you already know me and you can't adjust to Rosemary, that's fine (I personally am terrible at calling people by different names than they were introduced to me as) ...but that's how I'll be introducing myself, and signing most of my wiki entries and possibly e-mails and letters from now. Why the switch? I love my name Rosie but I'm ready for a change...I'm tired of meeting more dogs than people with my name. (It's true! Or simple homespun country lasses in fantasy novels. Ugh.) Rosie sounds so cute & cheery & sweet & I'm tired of that. Rosemary is actually my given name. It means "dew of the sea" according to my Websters'. And it's also a deep green herb with tiny blue blossoms that smells bitter and salty like the sea...Anyway. Oh, incidentally this (may) eliminate the confusion of two Rosies. For the record. --Rosemary

p.s. this is Rosemary Records, not Rosie O.

What is Noam's e-mail address? ~Rosie

hello everyone :D just for the record my addy in the directory isnt the right one. its my mothers! mine is calluna at nbtsc.org so there now that you have it e-mails me eh? smile lots'a love and heather hugs---Heather
