• Eireann, or Eire is...

 eire is quite spiff,
 I say so in a jiffy,
 shes fun to rhyme with,
 though hard to keep in time with.
 to visit her was grand,
 not at all bland!
 got to see her room,
 which failed to go boom!
 she showed me round her city,
 which made me all giddy,
 for a rad place it is,
 far from bad!
 and in the end,
 what a friend,
 is she.
 all done I am, 
 rhyme no longer I shall not.

Eireann is wild. I love her energy, her total curiousity, adventurousness, and willingness to plunge into new foods and experiences. I also love her quietness and thoughtfulness, which shows through in her writing especially. She thinks hard and deep about a lot of things and she knows how to write about them. I love reading her poetry and her prose. It flows clearly and evocatively into my mind, with rythms in the language. She is beautiful and knocks me out in that white prom dress. She has the most wonderful curls which form by her temples. She has hands which are soulmates of my hands. She is good to play thumb war with. She is the only person ever to get away with snapping my bra strap. (I will have my revenge someday.) ;) And she loves pizza. (Sometime we should make pizza together, dear..why didn't I think of that while you were here??)

Eireann held an awesome workshop with Heather that really helped me a lot. She's really sweet and makes me feel really comfertable with talking to her about anything, she's so loveable. -Mel

The first reason Eireann is near and dear to my heart is because I've never met a person with a name so close to mine. It really is scary how similar they are...she was the first camp person I've ever met. She helped answer my never-ending emails containing every question about camp and getting to camp that you could imagine. She actually had the dudes on Amtrak ask over the PA system before we got to Chicago for me to meet her in the lounge car because I had been napping and hadn't found her yet. Her passion for writing and adventure is such inspiration for me. She is a wonderful wonderful person and I really hope we stay in touch for a long time. -eira

Eire is...I don't know how to describe her. I haven't seen her in a long time, and she's changed so much, and I know she'll continue to change. We've been e-mailing sporadically, and I've wandered around her website on several occasions. Mostly what I know about her at the moment is through her writing, which I love. It's very lyrical and clear and vernacular; I can hear it playing out loud in my head when I read it. The rythm and the images are beautiful. And it also seems very purposeful, that she has something she really wants to tell you. I see her as a very strong and elegant and funny person. I would like to spend some time with her in New Haven and become more acquainted with her, and the city that's so often in the peripheral vision of her poems.

Eireann is awesome. She's great to talk to (as I've told her at least a bigillion times, even though that's not a real number, you get my point, don't you? eh?). I would love to spend a whole lot of time with her and just her without any distractions. We're just about the same hight, which makes good for eye contact ;). She's also a real cutie. I love the way she looks. And I like/identify with her virgo quality of actually needing to clean. ~Erin

okay... i don't know Eireann very well. not nearly as much as i'd like to... but there's something about the way she talks, every little word she utters is filled with all the essentials: love, respect, and beauty. she seems soft but in a loud way, and whenever she comes on IRC i just want to talk to her.. a very close friend. i love having long, deep conversations about the world with her. she is full of passion and has a deep desire to fully live her dreams. she's very real and herself, and always wanting to learn, and is very intuitive and perceptive. the first NBTSC camper (before we were campers!) i ever met. -courtney

Eireann is very sweet! She's a great writer, has an eye for design and is a good friend (even though I don't know her very well)! She's reassuring, and she even likes my stupid UPS song! ....a dear friend. She is honest and brave, questioning things and letting people know what she thinks, yet in an unassuming, beautiful way. Through writing to her for quite some time, I know how she is a poet, a deep thinker and my fellow rambler (cheers for long letters). Seeing her around camp was rather surreal, like seeing a character from your favorite book wandering around in front of you. But, now I also know that she's a wild dancer (extra cheers for wild dancing) and the way she sits introspectively out on the deck, or skips high around the field. I love you, Eire! ~Landis~

Eireann is articulate and brave and kind. She says what she needs to say. After reading her thoughts through e-mails and the web, I was so happy to meet her at camp and find out she's just as interesting there. -marina

I'll say something else about Eireann cause she's not Eryn anymore... Eireann is a person. I mean she is a person in the full entire sense of the word. Although I don't know her terribly well, from what I do know I get the feeling of... hmm... well, if people could be 4 dimentional, Eireann would be. She's deep. Like a lake is deep.

Why we love Eireanne. Alright, lets see here, why we love Eireanne.. Such a hard thing to put into words. All I can say is that that cute little girl has always been kind and sweet to me even when I was being a freaky bitch in Wisconsin. Since I met her I felt this need to shelter her but its wrong because she's a very strong detirmind young woman who I am sure will get a LOT done in her life. And she can do it in a way that most of the people she's dealing with won't even know whats hit them until she's on vacation in Majorca. She's a subtle and smart person and she's going to be big, just you wait! Zaria
