People In Southern California

Describe PeopleInSouthernCalifornia here. (are you sure? that's kind of a frightening prospect. heh heh)

6/15/2001 it has been decided that Nick (and his car) Ryland, Charlie, and Kim, are doing a road trip! after 2nd session of NBTSC, to your lovely state, for more info, read what is posted on AfterCamp, and no, we do not have extra room, but are looking for more cars and drivers to join us, and people to visit so if you want to join us, or have us visit (we are lovely guests!) Email the whole lot of us, with one shot, by sending it to, Roadtrip at nbtsc.org

we're slam-glam, we're movie stars, we're glitz and glitter and lights. search lights and twinkle lights, the lights of the hollywood sign and neon signs and the ends of cigarettes burning. we are feathers, pink and fringey. palm trees and sunshine and morning-fog, and bleached white grass on the hill sides. we are slam dunk and slinkster cool, big lips and big teeth and big breasts on billboards. we are sex and drugs and rock and roll. we are the waves crashing and ice cream trucks tinkling and kids shrieking. we're golden retrievers and mini-poodles and cats on leashes. we are mechanical fortune tellers and oleanders. poisonous and deadly and beautiful. merry go rounds, ice cream cones and champagne. we are muscle men and glamour-boys, and rasta men with dreadlocks and surfer dudes with tans. we are silicone enhanced models and fairygirls with wings and punkstar chika's with converse. we are falling stars and meteor showers. deserts. sage brush and joshua trees. we are talent. we are greyhound buses and tour buses and crowds of people all hurrying to different places. we are the nurturers and the corrupters. poets and smoke and coffee. electric guitars and acoustic guitars and deep deep drums. clove cigarettes and art exhibits. we are mosh pits and mohawks. we are knives and daggers and bandages and blood and stitches. we make your stomach crawl as we kiss your mouth. we are temptation. we are sweet. we are cute and laughing and we have fangs. we all have lines on our bodies. we are bottled tans. we are motorcycles and wind in your face, black leather and body heat. we are icycles and popcicles and unicycles. we are jazz and punk and classic and honky tonk. we are spicy rich foods and nectar and chlorine. we are stadiums and jacaranda blossoms and train stations. we are pink stucco and motor homes and chain link and barbed wire. we are braces and shiny copper pennies and watermelon bubble gum and diamond tiara's and red-heart-sunglasses. we are cement and concrete and callboxes and flat tires and convertibles. we are sunshine and moonshine and needles and empty bottles and jagged edges. we are crushed velvet and squealing rubber and satin flowers. we are glitz. we are glamour. we are dreams and songs and nostalgia. we are buildings torn down and traditions kept forever. we will live forever.~~this rant made possible by RoyaBoya, on her search for Shangri-la

  • RoyaBoya lives in Los Alamitos.. which is about 40 minutes south of LA, 15 minutes by disneyland, 5 minutes from the ocean, and 40 minuts from mountains, and 4 hours by train from marina. yeah come visit me. i'll even vacuum a square of carpet for you in my room. mwahaha.
  • Marina lives in Santa Barbara... so do a lot of 12-14 yeah old homeschoolers. They're pretty cool, a bunch of them were at my party... I'm only four hours from Roya by train. Yeah.

I also happen to know that Kathleen lives in San Luis Obispo (two hours north by train from me) and Evan lives in Camarillo, which can't be too far cause I keep seeing him at Santa Barbara City College. Other people who live in Southern California... Royanne and Christina Sisk(who live in Lucerne Valley), the Lesters... actually they're kinda scattered now that they're all grown up, aren't they... well, Ben at least lives in Southern CA. --Marina

  • I live in fresno. 2 hours from the ocean, 3-4 hourse from San fran, 3-4 hours from LA, 1.5 housr from the mountains (but big mountains, not the wimpy mountain's roya was talking about. He he). 5 hours from roya by bus or car, 2 days from marina by bus (long story about a long trip!) but onyl 5 by car, 4 if you go fast. fresno isn't the best place, but we have a big house, cool parents, fun dog, fun place to hang out.. and in a central location in cali--Josh
