| Perfect Hummous |
Describe PerfectHummous here.
I think the Hummous project/discussion deserves it's own little page.
So folks, I'm curious to know, what would make my fairly decent/sort of exciting hummous into a true masterpiece. What do I need?
Right now I usually use:
- 2 cups Garbanzo Beans (chick peas), pressure cooked
- Tahini (I never know how much)
- Lemon Juice
- Garlic (oh yeeeah)
- A wee bit of olive oil (the tahini seemsto usually have a fair bit of oil in it already)
- Salt, Cumin, Cayenne, fresh Parsley
That's about it. What would make it better???

Adrain- OK i am like the Hummus master. I make it at least every other week. Here are some things that i have found make it better...
Hummus is alot better when somewhat runny. I usually add about 1/4 cup water to the mix. Also- I put in 1/2 cup lemon juice- it makes the hummus very zesty... and i put in 1/4 cup tahini....but everyhing else sounds good....yum yum..and happy cooking!!!
love ya
Abbi
ps. is it just me, or is hummus spelled hummus? I never spelled it with an o. (hummous..... Maybe its a canadian thing....
er, sad to say, I buy my hummous at Trader Joe's. Sorry.
