Storrys About Aredridel

Hah, a best storry about Rickedy? (collapses into gails of laughter) Wah hah....

  Lesse here...

When he and Nick and Justin came and visited for a day at camp, Reeva was having her mask-making workshop. She also had some big fake flowers, and I made this enormous flower crown, and Rick commented on it, and I keep thinking about how incredibly funny he looked walking around with it on his head. I wish I had gotten pictures!!

Also, when I had first gotten my nbtsc.org account for my webpage, I was clueless as to just how to use ftp. Rick sat on IRC for over an hour and a half and helped me figure it out, and I still owe him bigtime for that. --Fiona

When he and Nick made their cameo appearances at 1st session, 2000, I was at Reeva's maskmaking workshop. She had a bunch of big plastic flowers, so I took a bunch and made them into this ridiculously huge flower crown, which I proceeded to gallop around camp in. He was in the lodge when I went in there to eat lunch, and all he says is "nice hat". So I take it off, and put it on his head, and he wore it around for quite a while, 'til I took it back. *grins* --Fiona

i got Rick and Aredridel mixed up! i dont know how i did that one... (hehe) i think it was that they have close nick names so i thought it was the same person or something! this was b.c (befor camp) of cours. take care sweety love Heather

Well, one time Rick and I were in Aikido, doing some art which required him to keep his wrist straight to work....being Rick, though, with his wiggly body, he just kept ducking and bending and weaving around, and for the life of me I couldn't get him to hold still...(this happened a lot in Aikido, he was always doing that). Anyway, this one time when he did that I just whapped him right in the chest, and he did this double-take, and WHAM! he was down! I was triumphant, but he just got back up and laughed...and the next time I tried it, he didn't flinch, darn him...

Not the best storry, but I'll put on a better one when I think of it..

New Years 1999/2000 the first night. Rick announced he was going to bed, walked over to beside Nicks wood stove, lay down, and went to sleep. He didnt take of his shoes, his sweater, find a pillow. It was just carpet over freaking plywood! he sleeps like a big cat, anywhere... -Dawn

Once I was on the computer. Real late. And I was feeling curious, or maybe somewhat creative. So I asked Rick some things about HTML. Next thing, it was about four hours later, and I had made myself a page. Rick had talked me through the whole thing. Thankee! Erin

  • Ohhhhh HTML. Dangerous stuff. They really ought to put a warnig out about it. Warning HTML may be adictive and bad for your carpal tunnels.

Not to metion sleep deprivation. *GRIN* --Ruth

Once upon a time a bunch of us made our way to Argenta for Dawn & Tessa's "Ack! We're 18!" party. At one point during the week we found ourselves chopping and stacking a whole bunch of wood as a token of thanks to Tessa's extremely generous parental units. We all took turns chopping and were doing great for the first couple hours (especially Dawn and Shippy... holy crap can these people wield a mean axe!), until we'd chopped through the smaller logs and found ourselves faced with monstrous pieces, some larger than the chopping block. We slowly made our way through a few pieces until it occured to Rick that this might be one of those occasions where that teamwork stuff is appropriate. We started working on one log, taking turns alternately burying one axe in the log and driving it through with the other. This was much more efficient and not nearly so tiring, and we cleared out the rest of the pile in under an hour, keeping a steady rhythm going with the clang of metal on metal and the thunk of blade hitting wood. Charlie later commented how much fun it was to watch the *icks work together, to which I say that can't have been half as fun as being one of those *icks. I wish I'd had more opportunities to collaborate with Rick, as no matter what the task, it always seemed to work out this well, and turned what might otherwise have been an exhausting chore into an absolute joy.

I was in the Dogwood kitchen with Rick, Robyn, Tessa, and Rachel (Naela), and Rick was teaching us how to play the stick game, which is actually a mind game that has nothing to do with the damn stick. Like most mind games, it's ridiculously simple when you figure it out, but frustrating until then. Robyn already knew how to play, and Tessa picked it up pretty quickly, but poor Rachel and I were thoroughly flurmuzzled for a while. And Rick had this mad, almost sadistic gleam in his eyes the whole time. He really enjoys that kind of shit. *grin* --Mitchell
