...an intelligent conversations type of guy. very easy to talk to. which reminds me, i should talk to him more... -EmilyOh ... I don't know what to start with. One of my absolute closest friends. He's someone I feel comfortable turning to in any situation, whether I've just thought of a horrible pun or I'm mad as hell at my parents or I want to know how to do something or I need someone to kick me in the butt. I've spent so many late nights on IRC getting all teary-eyed about how nice we're being to each other. I can count on Rick to want to talk to me. Um... qualities. Right. I recently learned that the guy's a great cook! He can do more things with a wok than I ever imagined possible. He seems to have this knack for getting things together at the very last second. He's always ready and willing to help with any problem anyone might have... of all the Old Campers, I've never thought of Rick of unapproachable. He's a great writer, very very convincing with words. He really cares about people, and doesn't let go easily. Funny. Great laugh. Just the right amount of ticklish, not too sqirmy but not immune either. I have absolute confidence that Aredridel will always be eirself, because it always shines through. Much love, Rick is one of the coolest people I have met! He's very smart, logical, and knowlagable about all sorts of things. He even turned to on to PERL so I didn't hafta quit Visual Basic cold turky! and, although this may sound weird, if I where gay, I would probably fall for Rick... This post is long overdue.Rick has inspired me in so many ways, from his bicycle cookery to his vast computer skills, that it's hard to know where to begin. I guess I'll just start with his otugoing nature and his willingness to reach out to tohers and make them feel welcome wherever he goes. Rick can geek in whatever depth you care to go about any topic under the sun, even those you would never expect that you could geek about. I think I pick up more random bits of information in five minutes talking with Rick than I learn in a month's worth of reading. His sense of style is also in perfect alignment with mine.
Rick is super, rick is wonderful, rick is [insert something that rhymes with super here]. Rick's whee fun to talk to on IRC and he offered to help me learn PHP and all sorts of interesting geeky computer stuff. So yes. Rick is a good person. Rick gets a cookie. Grin! I love you dear! You are so wonderful. You are so beautiful inside, it shines through. I am so thankful that I can be close to you. That you are. That we love each other. That we work. That mochas are chocolatey...and..yeah.
trustworthy. it's funny, how with some people you don't have to talk to them for very long, or even meet them, and you'd trust them with your life, and your secrets and with the way your mind works. i trust rick unbelivbably, already. he's an incredibally thoughtful person, always ready and willing to talk things out with you. he's rare, the kind of person who you can talk to, share things with, and have that reciprocrated. i know that when i meet rick, he'll be one of my favorite people to just pull aside and sit with. i can't wait to meet him. thanks for always lisening ari, an all 'round awesome person! My Big BROTHER. The guy I miss most. A geek. A friend. A smile. A hug. Thats my Rickey Tickey Tavey. Ruth Rick. smile Rick is... an amazing listener, almost always in a pleasent mood. So optomistic and idealistic it's scary. A natural leader... An amazing person to travel with, very laid back and capable. even though i havent seen him in nearly a year i still feel so close to him... -Dawn An incredibly patient person. He's also very caring and concerned about everyone. One time while I was on IRC, someone was going to look at an embarrassing picture of me, but Rick didn't catch that part, and when I did a little *fiona buries her head in her hands* thingy, he saw it, and sent me one of those query window things to make sure I was okay. Rick was also unbelievably patient with me while I was trying to figure out how to get my website up. *hugs* you rock. And he looks good with a big ugly flower crown on his head. *giggles* The truest friend one could ask for. Both teacher and student. So perceptive it's scary. Caring. Empathic. Balanced. A communicator. Grinning. Guru of geeks, and hero to all. Good for what ails ya. Rick cracks me up. He has a great sense of humor, not just in the sense of being funny but also at laughing at funny things and making you want to laugh with him... His laugh and his smile are infectious, and I get the feeling when he smiles or listens or speaks he truly feels it. One of the reasons his emotions are so contagious is because he doesn't seem to hide them the substitute love-of-my-life. ;-) I always picture him smiling. fascinating guy... when in need of a friend, I frequently find myself wishing he was around to talk to. one of those people you meet and immediately are made to feel welcomed into their heart. ~becca~ That Rick. One of those rare people who just gives, no strings attatched. I'm continually shocked at how kind he can be. I love talking to him and being around him, it gives me a feeling of clarity about everything. I love his smiles and the way he expresses himself, and his way of dealing with things. Aredridel/Ari/Rick is just too smart and cool to be thought of as a Normal Human Being. The man knows too damn much about everything, whether it's computers, music, books, flux capacitors, or the melting point of gold. hehehe ; ) He's my favorite person to talk to on IRC cuz he's always got something interesting to say (even Hmm.) Whenever I have any kind of computer problem (or any other kind, for that matter) Rick is always ready and willing to help. He smirks a lot too. Everything he writes always seems like it's exactly what he wanted to say, which I really admire cause it takes a whole lot of work for me to get anywhere near that. I'd also like to echo what Naela said, cause that rang true for me: Rick treats everyone like the person they would like to be.
