Theory In San Francisco

There was an IRC conversation between me and Carrie a month or two ago about making Theory happen outside of San Francisco this year. We were thinking of having it a bit out of civilization as far as San Francisco goes but close enought hat people could arrange to visit the city before and/or after it. I would be willing to do substantial delegation (hehe) to make this happen if there is sufficient interest. Dysk

Ideas? Thoughts?

I also think that it should not overlap a session of camp but should be near the same time as camp so people can go to camp and theory.

• Indeed it would be after camp. I'm thinking somewhere between 5 and 7 days after session 2 since it is a ways away and it would be nice to let people hang out in Oregon and it would be nice to have road trip possibilities which would be much more fun when it's not a rush, any possibility of an endorsement by RuthsTravelingTruck ? dYsk

• This is a cool-sounding idea... Especially since it's near me! There are some pretty nice areas in/near the San Francisco bay to camp in, I think. I'm curious as to what areas you guys were thinking of.

This isn't in the SF bay, but wouldn't Big Sur be a rad place to camp in for Theory? Mari, Big Sur freak.

• There are good reasons to be a big sur freak, it's a very cool place. I am way too tired today. I read it and thought you said you were the Big Fur Steak. Anyway I think that the main problem would be that it is a bit farther south than most people want to go. On the other hand if a bunch of people tell me they would be willing to go that far then it would be a great place to have it. By the way I'm still looking for suggestions for a good site. dysk

• This sounds like a cool idea and all, but at that point shouldn't you just drop the name 'Theory' and come up with something new? Seeing as it's 1) not even being run by the same people anymore 2) in a totally diffrent location. I do like the idea of a new location however... a lot.
