Go ahead. Brag.

Franny and I can play a really cool song called "Thirteen" by Big Star on our guitars. It's a harmony thingy and the parts play off each other, and it sounds really cool, and we just rock. Go us! --Fiona

I am capable and self sufficient and able to say "Screw that" to anything that doesn't work for me. And today I realize it! --marina

i just put up four strands of christmas lights around the house by myself, thank you very much. --Ali

My life is getting under control. I am capable. Life is good.-Dawn

I actually studied my Japanese today. --Rosemary

I worked eight whole hours today! And didn't make any mistakes! --marina

I spent a like 30 hours working on it, wiped my hard drive several times reinstalled windows three time, linux four. But I finally got my dual boot system working. I no longer am a complete computer novice! NickH

It works! I got my trebuchet to work! For those who don't know, a trebuchet is the kind of catapult with a counterweight. It still needs a lot of fine tuning, but I got a six inch think 1 foot long log to fly 25 feet high and just as far! This rocks! I will take over the world, middle ages fashion!!!!! --Josh

  • That kicks ASS! Now you just need some severed heads to fire from it! -- Emma
  • hey josh, my mom says brian doose has built a catapult that sends marbles 50 feet... you talked to him? and yay for your trebuchet!! your family seen it yet? ;) --marina

Neener neener neener. I haaaaave a blond streak, and tonight I'll have a puuuurple streak... --Robyn, no longer a hair dye virgin

  • woohoo robyn!! you're going to put up pictures online, right? *grin* --marina
    • Yessirreebob, if I remember to take pictures...--Robyn, off to find the camera

I have successfully navigated myself through two weeks at home without parents - staying at various friends houses on some nights, but also getting my own ass to the bus to go to NY and stay on my own, PLUS juggling my younger brothers schedule. Now, I'm off to get us both to the airport so we can go to Florida. Woohoo! ~Maggie

You guys won't care, but I think this is pretty cool... I got A's for all my book reports, Language Arts, Phy. Ed, and Earth/Life Science, Jason Project, and Geometry, B's in Math, and C's in World History/Geography. Thank God that after I'm done with this, I'm outta' this stupid curriculum thing. -JessicaSkater

I loaded 5 skids of 20 pound boxes onto a UPS truck in freezing rain in a sweatshirt and thin khakis. Damn Right. ~Danopian~

I just won our regional know-down! hahaha! It's a big quiz bowl for pony clubbers, with around 150 people, and I won! *dances around*

  Candra

hey...so did i...wait i didn't win...but i was competing above my division, and i got 3rd, good enough to go to nationals...yay me!! i had like 85 peeps in my division...*julia*

I went to a friend's birthday party last night, got 2 1/2 hours of sleep (haven't done that since Marina's!!), died my hair pink with kool-aide (yes, yes!!! I'm so excited about it!!!), got asked out on MY FIRST "official" DATE (the guy is very attractive physically, but I really do NOT like him as a person, so I declined... but STILL!), and actually met a guy at a poetry slam (who writes poetry!!!) who seems like someone I'd really like to get to know better. Wow, for ONCE, my life is heading somewhere in the right direction. ~Becky~

  • giggles* Yaaaay Becky! We want pictures! - Emma
  • marina hugs becky and grins at her. noooo fair... you can't get a life if i don't have one!! i mean a good one. i mean... i mean i need to go to sleep... but yay becky! ;) --marina

I trained a four month old puppy to go through a fifteen foot open agility tunnel on cue. He can run through the collapsed tunnel, too. And he can heel for 10 steps (without automatic sits right now, because I don't want him to get into the habit of sitting all the time), and he can lie down from a distance of 10 feet. But the best thing he's learned is how to weave through six weave poles correctly. Imagine a little black fuzzball weaving better than a 2 year-old at an agility trial. Yay for Indy (the pup) and me! -Katherine

i got first place in my duo interp piece at a tournament this weekend. yay me. nice trophy. :) i also did this while running a fever. so i'm especially proud. ;) i'm also proud of myself, because i've been finding cooler and cooler things about me. i have this really bad self esteem problem recently.. like not being able to find ANYTHING worthwhile about me. totally questioning everything i am. but anyways. i've been thinking about it hard, and can now go add to the RoyaWritesGoodThingsAboutRoya page. ;)yay me. --RoyaBoya

Marina played piano for a musical revue at Santa Barbara High School. She played 12 songs, sitting on stage for the entire show. Of those songs, one she transposed a third down, one was cut and pasted by the singers, one she got a week before the performances, one she and her dad had to figure out from listening to the CD, about half she turned her own pages, most were in horrible keys like 5 flats, and all she had to play soft enough so the singers could be heard, but loud enough so that the singers could stay in time. And when they didn't she had to play along with them and make them sound good. And she did it! And she rocks!

  • Marina you are so damn awesome!!!! As a fellow piano player...I empathize with you! Major congrats!! I love ya! ~Becky~

I got a "real" job. Erin

  • me too, me too! -courtney

Ok i have another thing to brag about where forensics' is concerned. and this is a really unexpected outcome too. i... got.. SECOND PLACE IN NOVICE INFORMATIVE!!! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY oh my gosh you guys you have no idea how exciting this is. I have a big ol purtyful trophy and everything. i was expecting a finalist, but not to place. and certainly not second. WOW. wow. wowowowowowow. i still can't believe it and i can't stop smiling. :) anyways i'm really happy about that. i met this guy on the long beach team too, who i've competed with, and he's been really cool and nice, and my last judge was such a hottie and i was just so hyper and having so much fun today, AND i got second. it was great. not only that but two of my teammates also placed, and it was just an all-around good tournament for us. hurrah. ok i'm done. :) --RoyaBoya

I just got back from a forensics (that would be speech and debate, not dead bodies)tournament, in which i debated!! woohoo. I had vowed never to debate again, so I'm kinda proud for overcoming that. Although I wasn't having fun till the last round (6 rounds per tournament) when the topic was about education, which just happens to be my speciality. YAYYYYYYYY that was soo so oooo sooo great. it felt so good to be competent about a subject, get up there and kick some ass. Granted, I don't know if we won, but just being able to talk that long and argue logically was enough. Woohoo! --RoyaBoya

Yay Roya!! You kick ass! Your devoted fan, and Desinted, ~Becky~

  • Wooooo! Go ROYA! :) - Emma

i just hooked up a lime green iMAC with a 10gig hard drive, 400mhz, 64mb RAM, DVD, and matching epson printer in my room. few weeks from now and i'll have DSL. aw, hell yes.

                                  thou shalt not be proud...
                                          -moth
  • go, Naomi! DSL kicks ass! (you now have no excuse not to e-mail me, babe) -JessicaSkater

Today I slept in really late, got online all day, took a few roles of black and white photos, did research, scheduled time to go to my aunt's house and get on HER computer to PRINT my research, listened to good music, and was one of three people to show up to my jazz ensemble. and I was the only person who could get the rhythym right on our new song too. Yay me.

I'm feeling kind of witty and spontaneous and artsy-fartsy right now. It feels good. :)

--RoyaBoya

At acting class on Tuesday night, I had to do this character (without speaking) which happened to be a guy. And I did it! And everyone in the class knew it was a guy! And I'm proud of that. --marina

Go Marina! You're awesome!! Will you do the guy impersonation at my party? *laughs* ~Becky~

ahem I, Susannah, finally got the courage to follow The Trend. Go me. Oh, and while I'm bragging I might as well say that I auditioned into two shows... Say again two shows and they both wanted me real bad, and I had the wonderful problem of haveing to choose between them. I now have the two roles in one show. A slutty ally cat and a prostitute ladybug-of-the-evening. This is going to be fun. WoooHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! -Susannah

  • Go, Susannah. Go, Susannah. It's your birthday. Go, Susannnnnaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! Whoowhoowhoo!

-your loving sister Samantha

I won a poetry slam!!! I won $19!!! After several rounds of reading stuff that I'd written, and competing against other people, I made it to the last round and had to improvise a poem off the top of my head using a word I picked from a hat!!! Ahhhgg! Yay! I'm so, so happy! ~Becky~

  • Becky!!! Oh my gawd!!! How Cool!!!! Call me! --marina
  • Becky, that is so damn cool! You kick ass! - Emma
  • HURRAH for becky!!! what was the word out of the hat? YAY YOU, if anyone deserves 19 dollars for her poetry,it's you. ;)hip hip hurray for my darling destined. :) --RoyaBoya
    • Thank you so much! The word was "sympathetic" =)

I'm going to be a writer for a replacement for the official Hanson fan club magazine. I'm sure no one here gives a damn but what the hell, I'm insanely happy. --Ali

  • Ali, that's awesome. I don't many Hanson fans! I get the official mag... --tiffany
  • hanson was my first concert ever...... (grin) --RoyaBoya

I cleaned the entire house today without being asked. -JessicaSkater

  • just a question: how did "OoohAhhhOhAauOOOOOOOOga" get started at camp?
    • Taber brought it in '99 I think... he said a family he knew did that, just the ooohahhhoh part though... WE added the aaoooga. :) --marina
    • I remember Taber and Grace doing ooaahooo in 98 and Bowie starting the Auoga--Lotus
      • I thought it started '99.
      • Wasn't it Caleb who started it and Bowie just kind of.. kept the spirit alive so to speak? ... I so wish they hadn't incidently. Oh god.. -Zen

I Heather Smith has cut my hair to my chin and i LIKE it a lot i think i look really good...so there! hahahahahaha dont mind me --Heather

A few days ago, I discovered that my mark in German class, for everything but the final exam which I haven't written yet, is 98%! - Christy

Ooooh! Aaaaaah! Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh! Ahoooga!

Today, I,

  • slept in and missed my opera lesson
  • stopped kicking myself aboot it
  • made gingerbread dough
  • remembered that i made a lovely wreath yesterday to decorate the modern outhouse (so attractively placed on our culdesac) and went to see if it was still there. It was.
  • played in the snow.

~Kim OoooooooooooooooohAaaaaaaahhhOHhhhhhhhhAaaauuuuOOOOOOOOga!

I didn't get defensive with my mother. --Marina Oooooooooooooooo, Aaaaaaaaaaahhh, Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, Awooooooga!

i'm pretty sure the awoooga bit is from caleb. but someone sigguested that bowie started it. either way, it was pretty quick to catch on, and it hasn't gone away.

bye the way. i started reading books again. well.. i never totally stopped. but i just read boring short mind-candy-ish books. with no real thinking involved. i just finished Slaughterhouse Five, Breakfast of Champions, and i just started Hocus Pocus, all by kurt vonnegut. good stuff. i liked slaughterhouse five the best so far. read em if you feel like it. -cory

Tonight I helped my mom shovel about NINE inches of snow of our stupid driveway! Then I played in the snow and ate it and watched it falling and was happy, even though my arms kinda hurt. ~Becky~

Dude, I just gotta say this! Due to my apparent genious and massively overstimulated imagination, these two Christmas gifts that are in my room right this moment have been born into existance! For the first boi, there is... a fish mobile! But no ordinary fish mobile! This one will have swedish fish candy attached to it, the perfect April fools joke for December, yo! For the second boi, who hath sworn his love for me, I have carefully put together a heart necklace... but, of course, no ordinary heart necklace! This one has a hardware-store chain on it, is painted black, and has nails stuck through it in a circular pattern around the edges. Man, do I rock. If these guys don't love me now, they will after Wednesday night! Hahahahah! ~Eire

Today I was cool. -Spike (the cool one.)

 *I was cool again today.

I think Calvin says oooohaaaahoohhaaaouuuggaa in one of the Calvin and Hobbes strips. Then his mom kicks him out of the house and he makes a face and sez something smartassed.

I'm going to volunteer firefighter training and I'm the only girl and I quit my safety blanket job to concentrate on massage as a career, and I'm learning to telemark ski and seem to be impressing everybody with how well I'm doing, although I don't really have a choice, because everyone around me has been skiing since they were three and I have to keep up.

   /Hannah/

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhohhhhhhhhhhhhhhAWUUUGA!
