I would very happily tackle this big project but for one thin i need to know if people like the idea. If anyone has any negative opinions of reasons this should not happen pleas let me know.
For another thing we would certainly need to get the consent of all the people who have written in any particular set of poems.
For a third thing would we want this to be distributed to
a) only people who have written on PoetryMarathon? b) only people on wiki/NBTSCers c) anyone who hears about it and wants a copy or anyone we think might enjoy it.
So let me know just what you think!!! Preferably soon!!! And I?ll post the list of people who have poetry in the first archive and please tell me if it would be all right to include the poems in any sort of publication/zine ect...that we might come up with m?kay?
Love and Poetry, Franny
hola folks, your lovely RoyaBoya here....
i was thinking, there are SO MANY POEMS on PoetryMarathon, that to make a zine out of all of them kinda looks daunting for one person. so maybe we should split it up? franny can take number one, i can take number two, marina three, becky 4, fiona 5, etc etc. that way they'll all have nifty individual touches, and everyone gets to have some input? sound like fun?
- hey...i've had expierience doing zines before (3 years expierience) so if you want any help from me, i'm coo with tha idea, yo! *grins*
kat
- if you can wait until after Christmas/finals, I'd be most pleased to put together one of the zines...

- I'd be very willing to put one of them together.

- ps: i just wanted to say that ya'll are amazing, and i am sooo proud every time i look at PoetryMarathon! almost 1000 poems! WOW.

- Yay! that is such a great idea! Wow! And if you actually go and read thouroughly through every peom on archive one you will be in shock because it's so increbily amazing. *nods* FrannyIsRad
- How about we either all send Roya a copy of each zine and she puts them together in a book like format, offering copies to those who want them (we'd have to pay for costs etc..), and also each zine like say i do twenty, than anyone who wants a copy sends a certain amount of $ to cover copying costs to me, and i'd send them a copy... Thats a lot of back & forth stuff though... and if anyone has ideas on how to make it simpler & get everyone copies.... Please please offer suggestions! grins I know I certainly am going to want a copy of each zine... ~jadzia
- maybe...maybe an one line zeen. it would coast less and be less work and then we wouldnt have to deal with what to do with them... just a thought

- I think that the person who makes the zine should be responsible for printing. It isn't really fair to dump all the printing and distributing on one person. However it would make logistics less confusing. How about we make a list of sorts. Hmmm....and have a cost that could cover printing and postage. We'd have to see who is willing and will get around to mailing thrity zines....I think an online would would be easier too but...PoetryMarathon is already online and I love the idea of a copy you can hold with artwork and pretty colors. Maybe we could also make a list of people who will want a copy of every single one...And are we doing it in any order? There's a lot of questions.....Who can get a copy of the zine? just anyone...~FrannyIsRad~
- I can use the copy machine at my mom's office, especially if I bring my own paper. I know I could make thirty some odd copies of it, and I'd get around to mailing them, too! I think that people should only volunteer to make a 'zine if they'll be able to copy and distribute it... or does that sound bitchy? In any case, yeah. I think about a buck per copy would cover it, at least for me...

- I don't think that sounds bitchy at all. There's no point in making one if you're not going to distribute it. Or even if you're not going to distribute it for ten years i think. i could deffinatly make a bunch of copies and a dollar or two would cover printing costs and postage. ~Franny~
- Perhaps, instead of making a giant book, we could merely request zines from each individual person, in case people just want one or two particualr ones? or maybe, sets of three? archives 1,2,3 together, and so on? how else would this work with postage? could people geographically close assemble theirs together? could we issue one per month, or week, and just send them free to people who are assembling zines, and charge people who arent for printing and shipping? ~Kim~
- i thought that's what we were doing. example: if you want a copy of number one you ask roya and send her the money and she sends you a zine. then if you don't want a copy of all of them you can choose. i'm not sure scheduling it would work very well. unschoolers seem to work better with an open ended time frame. however since it could take year :) maybe people should make an ultimate time goal? is this getting too complicated? is anyone else confused? franny
